This is the thing, you should go for centre of mass of what you can see. Especially in airsoft where our gold standard of accuracy isnt that good its just logical to maximise the chance of hitting.
Now that does mean if all you can see is their head, then yes the headshot is the only option and that is the game. Likewise just because you shoot for the chest doesnt mean the round wont hit the head, thats also just the game. Or maybe they move and the stomach shot you fired lands on the face, thats just the game. Point is you're objective is to get the hit and move on.
The issue is the idea that it's some sort of flex to go for the head when you don't need to, the intent to inflict pain and acting like people disliking pain is some form of character flaw rather than the hardwired result of millions of years of evolution.
Then folk start thinking thats ok, normal, and you end up with toxic acolytes and folk calling it on the hobby because they dont want to play in that environment (hi, i'm one of those folk)
