Heya all, I've put up for sale my vfc m110a1 gbbr. It's as new and never fielded. I've put like 15 mags through it, just paper punching in the house. Comes with 1x4 nuprol LPVO and two mags. One that came with the rifle and one I bought literally 2 weeks ago. It shoots great, accuracy at 25 feet is almost bb on bb. I've got it up for sale for 825 at the moment, had a couple of reactions when I first put the advert up, guessed that the price is to high. Any help would be appreciated

Retail pricing puts the gun, scope and additional mag at ~£1045 so the typical 60-70% resale percentage puts the used price closer to £730 at the top end of that percentage.

Because the gun and its accessories are still in production and relatively easy to procure, a consumer's leverage in reselling them is limited. 20% is lost from retail prices in reselling because you're not paying VAT so another loss of 10-20% points on retail depending on the gun's cosmetic condition is expected.
 
I saw that rifle. It's a lovely looking gun, I think the only reason it's not selling is it's just expensive. I've seen the same think in here with gbls das rifles that at £1500 for the base gun. I think one sold for £850 ish with a ton of mags and other bits. My theory is if you've got £1000 disposable income to drop on a RIF you aren't too fussed about saving a few £100 for the risk of buying 2nd hand

I've seen people on here expecting the original price of a gun to be based in retail value from a non UK retailer and then 2nd hand being 70%-80% of that. I'm not sure I agree with that given if you buy from abroad you can't really send it back (ie. effectively no warranty). And if you're selling an as-new gun 2nd hand gun the main reason for the less than retail price is that warranty imo. I've no experience of buying a RIF from overseas though so I could be talking rubbish.

Good luck with the sale. I hope you get a fair price for it! You may just need a bit of patience or to wait for next payday when people have more cash to spend.
 
Pricing using overseas costs is rather silly, however if somebody is looking to buy something a bit more niche like what you have… the probability of those people will know it’s cheaper to import and would opt to do so, unfortunately.

From ProAct, including shipping & import fees it’s roughly £672. Meanwhile HPA-UK have it up at £840.

The extra mag is £45 from proact with their shipping. Again, people that are into GBBR’s mostly know that mags are cheaper overseas and will order from there rather than in the UK most of the time. HPA-UK have the mag at £65

I don’t know how desirable the LPVO would be as it’s not one of the popular brands (nuprol optics are kinda naff on gbbrs in my experience too as nearly all of the ones I’ve tried have got damaged with use on VFC AR’s…) but it looks to retail for £100

So with UK prices, retail would be £1005, 65% would be £653.25

Using overseas prices, retail would be £817, 65% of that would be £531.05

So your price is pretty high. I’d go in the middle of those two prices above at £635 personally.

I also don’t think you can describe it “as new” when it’s had 15 mags put through it and an accessory mounted. It’s used, because it has been, well… used 😂

Come see it, you'll say it's as new lol 😆 but yes I agree. I'm just saying it's never seen day light and it's condition is as new
 
It's a gamble as well that the seller is both honest about the condition and actually knows enough about the internals to know it's basically new.

Somehow every gun sold on this platform is simultaneously, "only a few mags brand new," but also, "super reliable incredible on the field." You end up getting pretty skeptical and I've been bitten even when buying from supposed Techs lmao.

The price reduction is a teaser to make the gamble worth it IMO. Like Austeyr said, people looking to drop £800+ on a GBB will usually know about importing direct from Taiwan where they're made.
 
I've owned firearms shotguns airsoft guns over the years. I've been into shooting sports since I was very young. I'm a straight shooter don't bull crap people

To me, "as new" means it's exactly as it would be if it had just come from the shop. If you've used it for 15 mags, then it's been used, regardless of how well it's been looked after. I'd describe that as "excellent condition" or "lightly used," not "as new."

If you opened a bottle of water, poured it into a bowl, washed your face in it then poured it back into the bottle. is that bottle "as new"? The bottle itself still looks new...

The image on your listing shows a scuff on the side. Definitely wouldn't have that brand new. 1783761490255.webp

Got to be super careful when listing stuff as new. If it has even the smallest issue, they will instantly get money back from PayPal for an incorrect description, i learnt that the hard way selling stuff on eBay. Sometimes eBay won't even let you describe something as new for that very reason.

It may look new, but it isn't.
It's like buying a car. The moment it leaves the forecourt, the value is gone and it's no longer new.

As Punisher pointed out, you open yourself up to liability when the buyer gets it and sees the hammer etc is worn even slightly and yeah, that scratch knocks it from "like new" to without a doubt used. Truth be told, if I was looking at a replica and it had a scratch like shown there I personally would avoid it - Even more so if it's listed as "like new" and has visible damages haha

Not being funny but it's as new. And I've never had any problems selling on here before when I've put up as new...because it is. Only asked for a ball park price lads and I'm getting a 3rd degree haha 😄 even from factory you get scuffs so chill out 😎
