So been out of airsoft for a couple years and thinking of getting back into it.
Previously I was GBB only and ended up pretty much only playing at the Gaol.
I believe that site is reducing game days.
What other sites are there similar to gaol? Urban environments or largish CQB sites. I’m based Northampton but open to drive a couple hours.
Did search but didn’t find much.

Sadly, they're something of a dying breed. HQ Airsoft's gone also as has UCAP Vanquish.

You've got Urban Ops CQB in Wellingborough but is that too small for your liking? If not, I would recommend Blackstone CQB in Huntingdon. It's portrayed like a small village within a warehouse and run very well.

It's well outside of your 2 hour driving window though South Coast CQB has some good play both inside and outside the buildings there.

Urban ops in Wellingborough looks to be permanently closed.
Blackstone looks good, will keep that on the radar. Thanks for the recommendation.

Southcoast CQB is a mega site, I have been once and will go again, it’s just abit of a drive and very shit MPGs in the current car doesn’t help

You have UCAP VENDETTA in Gloucester which is probably a 2-3 hour drive from northampton

Blackstone looks great, never knew that was there and Ive been gagging for an indoors CQB site, and only live half hour away, will be giving it a try ASAP for sure!

Battle Stations is a CQB site in Snetterton. It's mainly containers. Never been to the Goal but I imagine it's smaller. Seems to be temporarily shut though.

Ive been to The Gaol a few times and have friends who are regulars there, Im not quite sure what the story is there as their FB page seems to imply the site is closing down but theyre waiting on a final closing date, and running ad-hoc games in the meantime?

I didnt particularly enjoy it as a site, I found it very, very bottleneck-y, and they tried to make more interesting games by adding loads of objectives to do - generally collect part A from location X, take it to person B at Y and then escort to location Z or something like that, but the problem was unless you actually knew and memorised the layout of the map and where all the named locations were you had no clue, got lost, and it just ended up as TDM for most of the people who werent playing the objectives :P

Section 5, used to be called Shadow 1, by Derby is only just over an hour away. I played there a few weeks ago, its essentially a big barn with a village type scenario built inside. Very quick paced, and good fun.
