Transporting Gear

Hey guys (and gals),

I'm off to my first skirmish in a fortnight today and was wondering: "What's the best way to transport gear?" I'm off to Bunker 51 so I'll be using the tube system, but any general tips would be great for when I go back home and start playing outdoors. I've already got a case for my gun so that's not an issue, but a mask, BBs, gas, pads, holster and a vest are all a bit much for my backpack to handle.

Any and all help is much appreciated

well you'll get a very free area if you decide to carry your vest lol.

Get a bigger backpack. It all has to be concealed. Other option is to drive.

Bigger pack is the answer I'm afraid. Something like a 3 day bergan can be had for around a tenner on ebay and can carry a vest and rest of the bits quite easily. Or nip down your local market and have a look at the bag stall they all have! You are going to want a 30-40l one to carry a vest is well

I think I'm gonna head down to argos, pick up a holdall and do some careful packing for my gear, probably the cheapest way to pack a lot of stuff.

I use the train to get to my local

Just have a decent sized gun bag, and a rucksack for other stuff like helmet, vest etc. Can wear camo clothes.

Sports bag maybe?

i got a 120ltr duffel bag for £30 from cotsworld a few years back, don't know whether they still do them at that price, but i can easily fit my rav with attached cargo pack, and my M16 in one without any problems.

I would have thought only weapons have to be hidden? I often wear my armor under my coat (as its winter anyway), that saves a lot of space in my kit bag and would mean if some nutter decided to stab/shoot me on the way they would get a shock. I believe legally the armor would not be an issue, its not illegal to own body armor but I see no reason to draw attention to myself so do keep it covered. With coat on I just look a bit more soggy around the middle than I am...

I also tend to wear trousers and boots to site to save carrying them, camo not that uncommon out and about (although I often in black which is even less 'scary') so you don't attract undue attention. Obviously I avoid holsters or anything else 'weapon' related in a visible location. However you can often 'wear' a good portion of the kit or shove in coat pockets (obviously not weapon related stuff, but batts, balaclava, gloves, lunch, etc)

That way you limit what the backpack needs to hold to bigger solid stuff mask, helmet, belt gear and food, with everything else (mags have own space in my gun bag) hidden in the gun bag nice and safely in line with legal obligations.

Don't think there is anything wrong with wearing a vest etc. if it is well covered up with a coat. Just don't forget the underground and its history, not only the bombings but the shooting too. No point risking anything in my opinion and best to have everything packed away if you think anyone could find it at all worrying or suspicious.
