The 'What have you just bought' Thread

So before I used a tekmat when fiddlin my glocks. Which is kind of crap since the tekmat is black/dark grey and all the tiny screws and springs are also black.

So today I got this in the mail from ali. About 10£ posted.

Light blue soldering mat. Got magnetic compartments and all. No more wasting fiddlintime looking for a screw!

This will be the first rifle I have bought since the Ares RDB on first release. (Maybe 2 and a half years ago?)

As you may know, I went from having 36 rifles and pistols, now down to just 5 rifles and 3 pistols (With one of those rifles and one pistols for sale) in preparation for a potential move to Spain. But a chance to get a brand new one of these, which has been a rifle that eluded me for a long time. Now I finally have one!

LCT AKMSU. It's teh sxe.

I know it's very marmite, but I have always loved the Glory Hole Foregrip and the underfolder look.

Gearbox is shimmed nicely from the factory. It's one of the more recent LCT Quick Change spring ones. Changed over motor to XT Neo High torque. Slightly louder than the stock motor but still pretty damn quiet. Front sight post was pissed so hit it with a mallet to get it more in line, hopefully it will stay in that position. Firing at 327fps at the mo. Most I will do with it now is put a steel barrel and new hop rubber in it. If I get this and my others overseas when the time comes, I might have to turn this into an angel build and just stick a tonne of unnecessary and ridiculous upgrades into it.

The underfolder has the typical up and down wobble once fully unfolded. But it's not that bad at all.

Cant wait to field this!

Picked up a Silverback TAC-41 Lite this afternoon from my local shop, been watching their website like a hawk last couple of days, as I knew they were landing this week, so as soon as I saw they'd changed from "out of stock" to "In stock", I gave them a call to keep 1 back for me, (not knowing how many they'd got in and how quick they'd sell), so popped in on way home. Also picked up the 24mm thread long carbon suppressor and a 110rd mag (no thread adaptors from 24mm-14mm and no standard 48rd mags in stock). I decided I'd use spare scope and rings from my air rifles, so went into my gun room to open my cabinet to get them out. Assembled the rifle and then tried the scopes, my options were either a Nikko Sterling Nighteater 4-16x44 SF or Hawke Sport HD 2-7x30 AO IR, only got low mounts that will fit the rifle. Despite the NS being about 4" longer and larger objective lense, it didn't look too big and although I could still operate the hop, it was fairly close, so went with the Hawke, which with the correct eye relief, the objective lense doesn't even get to the end of the rail and about 5mm clearance, so spot on. Just got to find some time to zero it before my next game.

Might have to see how my Yukon Photon 4.6x42 digital NV scope is on the rifle, maybe do some night games, luckily, being digital, I can use it day or night, although image is only in black and white.

Got a selection of ACU/UCA molle II on it's way, some from Germany & some from the good ol US of A.

I'll post pics when it finally arrives.

A mix of stuff I bought at Shift Your RIFTs and items that weren't available/in stock with retailers there. The hicapa was 2nd hand from someone selling for £80, but I needed to buy a mag for it as the one it came with wasn't TM and didn't lock back on empty.

For the AAP I got the stainless steel hammer set, auto sear and fire pin lock, an ultra lightweight blowback unit, a 50 degree flamingo bucking, a crazy jet barrel and a hadron 300% return spring and short stroke buffer. Already got the h-plate for the build in the AAP and it has been performing okay so far, but it's time to make it mean and hopefully more reliable in the cold! :P

For the hicapa, I bought the nineball magazine rubbers and a crazy jet barrel. Got a spare ML hop rubber and h-plate in my bits box so all that will be an "it'll do" build until I can get the rest of the stuff from hicapa hub. Might do it later this month, but will see.

And the 60 degree flamingo is to try in my m700. If I like it, I'll also try one in my MWS.

Me again, but I bought something over the weekend that I wasn't expecting to because I couldn't say no to it. Guess the rest of the hi-capa build will have to be done next month instead ?

PPS Kar98k. Came with 4 mags, 1 is leaking so I'll get that all fixed up. Coming with me to the upcoming Vietnam filmsim as the mags fit perfectly in my SKS chicom. Hop rubber is also knackered, so I've got a Flamingo bucking on the way and figured I'd stick a Maple Leaf Crazy Jet barrel in it as well while I'm in there, so those are on the way.

One (hopefully) neat addition to the ammo hub:

6x3 admin/utility pouch from Baribal.

Good looking setup mate, which insert do you have in there?
Nothing fancy, just an AliExpress clone of the Haley mp2 triple insert.

Holds metal mags adequately without making it Excalibur-like impossible to extract.

Also makes it less difficult to reinsert mags compared to the spiritus style elastic sandwich.

Well, just cos I'm not supposed to do any exercise while my knee(s) get sorted, doesn't mean I can't exercise my digits and purchase some airsoft kit, does it?

So I've snaffled a couple of good things from the Action Hobbies boneyard... a large hard case for the princely sum of £12 (it's a bit tired and shabby, but it'll still do the job), and something I've wanted for a while.... an SLR!   Well, a FAL.   Well, a FAL carbine.   But it's still a thing of beauty all the same ?

A JG 3000 SA/LK 58 with 4 (count 'em) hi-cap mags.
And it's been upgraded... a high rate-of-fire compared to my other JG guns, even on a 7.4v.   It's allegedly got a Gate Aster hidden inside.

But.. yeah, it's a boneyard gun - so it's not perfect - 2 of the hi-cap mags seem a bit buggered so they'll be conjoined into a single working (hopefully), and more importantly the single shot mode is a bit iffy.   It's usually fine, but every now and again it won't fully cycle.  Still shoots on the next trigger pull.   Maybe the Aster wasn't quite set up properly?  I'll set up a new thread for tech advice on that.

In the meantime I just love the heft of this (metal receiver), and the look of it of course :D

So it was YOU who beat me to it!

Sorry :)

(Not sorry ;))

And just to taunt you a tiny bit further, it does look really cool with a barrel extension on it, to make it more SLR'y.
I stuck my Acetech Blaster C tracer on the end of that, lobbed an 11.1v battery in, and even with non-tracer ammo it made a very pretty light show in the dark, with an insane rate of fire.   I can see why AH said to use a 7.4v, the battery got warm after just a few bursts.

I've no idea how long this thing will hold together, and whether it's actually any good past 15m, but so far it's been fun!

Was out in Athens the past week with my father for a memorial service for my great grandfather and the crew of his submarine,  but I had a few days spare either side so in addition to the usual touristy bits, and needing a bit of an airsoft fix, I went out to Greek Airsoft in Achilleos for a bit of a browse and a chat (curious how greek airsoft compared to UK)  and then, because i love more unusual things in airsoft.... I decided to buy myself some new gear in Greek Lizard camo...
