The 'What have you just bought' Thread

Been waiting ages for these to come back in stock. Just ordered, together with a Y-harness.

Genuine question - What's the big deal about them?

I had a Mk2 Peacekeeper many moons ago (2009 to be exact) in DPM and it was alright, but nothing to get excited over. Is the Mk5 featured in a particular loadout?

Not sure about a particular loadout, but for me, it's based purely on wanting a chest rig so that I have an option besides my PC, the large storage capacity the Peacekeeper offers (I realise this isn't an exclusive feature ?) and that I have bought a fair few things from Platatac that are really high quality. They're also a great company to deal with.

As C-Diddy has said really, more about them being a chest rig with plenty of load carrying ability than a particular loadout.

I love my Arktis chest rigs but you are limited in terms of carrying comms and being able to add extra pouches. The PK has the flexibility to add a couple more pouches to the sides of the magazine ones without overloading the rig, and still leaves you room in your utility pouches for water etc.

Might not be everyone’s cup of tea but I’ve wanted one since I got hands on with a friends, and they review pretty well for an option other than a plate carrier.

Cheeky wee purchase of an IdoGear shooters belt from Ali Exp

Quick delivery from just outside HK, took only 8 days, way faster than their estimated delivery date.

Seems solid enough, holds my secondary and a mag & dump pouch quite solidly

Nice feeling to be able to order a Medium for the first time in about 8 yrs!!

Tired of being a porker, lost 3” off my waist so far this year, and I’m motivated to get back to a 32 ish waist ?

It’ll get tried out next weekend, can’t wait!

Getting my loadout perfected for NAF , so as I can sit about and talk shit with my boys and not bother to play

(it’s a festival after all innit!!) ?

The saga of dumping whatever money I earn into airsoft continues:

1x Dboys fixed stubby stock;

1x Arcturus/D-Day AK74 high cap (trying it out, if it feeds in my Cyma I'll buy 5 more);

1x PTS Us Palm Ak grip;

3x Maple Leaf 70° Super Macaron (can't get enough of those)

Good luck with that mate - couldn't get it to fit on my Cyma CM.045. No idea what it was designed for - I sold it to @Adolf Hamster who couldn't get it to fit his guns (E&L and JG).
For real?

Ah fuck it, I'll crack out the Dremel then.

Also it's going on a cm.045 too

Yeh - good luck with that too.

Just found the thread I created a couple years ago:

memory is rather vague on this one, i think it ended up on my warhead build but honestly can't recall how i ended up fitting it, but i suspect a significant amount of bodging was involved.

I recently bought the lad a second hand LCT AS Val, which is a very beautiful, rather heavy item that shoots very nicely.  For myself, a second hand DBoys PDW for £35 all in.

I have been eying one of these up on Ali x. What's the sewing and the buckle like?
Overall, I’m impressed with the quality for what it cost (£27 to my door)

Material seems of a decent quality, and stitching is ok, a couple of loose ends, but nothing to bother me.

Buckle was wrapped to protect it during shipping, will it scratch easy or chip? Only time will tell, but certainly good enough for my Airsoft larping

Nice. Yeah it looks pretty decent. Think I will take the plunge. Thanks.

It seems to fit, although it doesn't solve my "tighten the grip and the gun screams louder than a petite vs BBC clip" issue, to which I have yet to figure out a solution.

Along with a self unwinding motor adjustment grub screw piece of shit.

No pics as of yet but I've just got some guys tan A&K Masada (ACR) that's been sat around for a while. They say it's had the wiring repaired and the hop unit replaced as the old one cracked.

The first thing I did is test fire it and jesus christ, this is the single loudest gearbox i've ever heard. Backing the motor height down a bit helped but holy crap it's loud but at least it works. I go to take the rails off the handguard and find that the guy has GLUED the rails to the bloody handguard... With a fair bit of effort I managed to get them off but left behind the glue. Once removed it appears the glue has discoloured the handguard so it's been given a quick once over with tan and brown paint as replacement handguards (in tan) are impossible to find online. Checking the wiring, it's been shoddily repaired with what look like spade connectors. Not massively worried as I planned on throwing a front wired Perun V2 hybrid into it seeing as it's a standard V2 gearbox.

There's a fair few other things going on with it that require minor fiddling to fix. Looks like another potential project where the only place I forsee any real issues is surrounding the hop unit but there's a german company, Begadi, who make replacment CNC rotary hop units, hop arms and C-clips all for the Masada so I might skirt through that relatively unscathed.
