The 'What have you just bought' Thread

Maaaan, fuck Taiwangun!

They had Perun Hybrids in stock, so I bought two.

They had Slong all rubber cylinder heads, so I bought two.

It's a bad place, avoid if you don't want to feel unclean.
It's not difficult to stay away since brexit... ?

Fortunately the "only orders over £135" for the UK tends to push me away, but before that I would agree with you. Bought so much from Taiwangun in the past :D
Put a order request Into patrolbase to order stuff from their site. Takes 4-6 weeks as I think they do a monthly request order to them.

I've just had a few bits turn up today from doing this.

I got an as new complete  LC1 large Alice pack (yup another one) plus a set of SR1 (1st Gen) ITW Nexus buckles to refurb some  kit. I’m not sure which is more exciting! ???

My Sotac EXPS3 sight has turned up turned up (late... the shop owner was on hols, and then Snail Mail lived up to its name too, it was sent on Friday)
£55 from eBay.

Maybe I'll do a mini-review it in the thread where I asked which one to buy (and then bought this in a hurry), but the TL;DR version is the attractive reticle is nice and bright - but the brightness adjusters work in very fine increments (too fine?), the whole thing feels well built, the quick-release mount is good, and parallax is perfectly alright (i.e. horrible at absolute point-blank, a very few centimetres at 6-7m (more vertical than horizontal), and unnoticeable to my decrepit eyes at 15m+)

I also bought a Red Dot Engineering sight protector... that will take a tiny bit of filing / Dremel work too fit, because it's too tight a fit, and there needs to be some relief around the battery cap retainer wire.

Big personal win for me today, these puppies arrived and the gamble of going with a small reg paid off (been gradually working down from a large reg for the last few years). Fit perfectly, over the moon.

Yes lad! I bloody love Plat stuff. In fact it was chatting to you that convinced me to part with my cash and get some tiger stripe DAX.

Got a big list of things to get from them and don't regret a penny I've spent with them since.

I maintain that I hate the knee pad design granted that's not unique to the Platatac ones, I just loathe the Crye knee pad design/system and genuinely can't fathom how its last so long without revision. Aaaaaanyway, that aside the Plat ones are definitely my favourite run of Crye-alikes, glad you're liking them. Looking forward to selling my pair of regular Tigers on so I can grab a new pair in what is now the correct size.

Two G&G high cap mags for the G(EC)36.   They're very nicely made, and weren't too pricey at ~£25 each from Bullseye.   That means I'm "skirmish-ready" with the G36* as I'll have 2 high caps = 800rds plus 2 mid caps. Which is nice.

Also got the Cyma M14 scope mount.  Here's some pain for me - it obviously will fit perfectly, but my aborted attempt to fit the cheapo Ali Express copy I bought a few months ago meant I've cut a bigger thread partway into the front bolt hole.  Not big enough to accept the supplied bolt for that (it's a stupid half size, M5.5 I think).  That means there's not much of the original thread left - and the Cyma bolt isn't quite long enough to reach it now.    I've either got to buy the M5.5 tap and commit to the Ali's bolt, or find someone with a Helicoil set, so I can fit the Cyma one.     Ho hum.

This almost generic ICS sports line number from @HuttArmouries to replace my other nearly generic CAA M4.

Feels great, will still be a while before I can get it out to a skirmish.

and now I have a replacement I can take the other one apart and "learn" if I am capable of fixing or I just post a bag of bits to an actual tech ?
