THE TM MWS thread

Some BB testing at 10m today, Vorsk 0.36g lead the pack and are much tighter than stock MWS on BLS BBs (according to 4uad airsofts tests)

I used two 0.1mm AEG shims to stop the hop arm moving side to side but have the stock TM rubber in there at the moment.

* 4uad tested Stock MWS 120mm diagonal group at 20m.

* My MWS (Laylax arm, Crazyjet 250mm) with Vorsk 0.36 (thanks @MAX DICKER) 45mm with a flyer at 10m so roughly 90mm at 20m!

Geoffs 0.32g coming, if anyone has a handful of Geoffs 0.36g they could bung in the post to me that would be great ?

Wow. Just wow.

Geoffs Super Precision 0.32g BBs are defo the fave for my MWS.

Vorsk 0.36g managed a 45mm diagonal and 936mm2 area spread over 10m

Geoffs smashed it with 5 shots in a 319mm2 box, 34mm diagonal! I re ran the test to make sure it wasn’t a fluke and got 520mm2 / 42mm. For size reference the box is about the side of the end of your thumb!

Bonus that they are a third of the price of 0.36g BBs (of any brand!)

Next test will be with the new Maple Leaf MR Silicone hop rubber, but I can’t be bothered to change it at the moment and I would probably need to push the testing out to 20 or 30m to see any appreciable difference.

Safe to say I will be grabbing some more Geoffs SP 0.32g with my next order ?

Well after a long sabbatical from the sport I am now back and I finally got round to finishing of the Taran Tactical TR1 John Wick. It uses the Angry Gun TTI TR1 John Wick kit. Before a few of you tell me about the evil of Angry Gun parts, all the internals are all MWS apart from a tan bucking and a longer 6.05 inner barrel. Also I didn't pay the absurdly expensive price of £900 or whatever it was. I got it off a former member on here that bought it just to get an upper he had broken. I got eh whole thing including a near full MWS for a bargain price.

Regarding the quality of the kit, I did have to do a little bit of light engineering to get the trigger mechanism to fit in the lower but everything else in the kit fitted quite nicely. I also fitted a new BCG with a built in NPAS ( I can't remember the name as I bought it over 2 years ago and never fitted it.

I gave it a test fire and with the NPAS wound all the way in (max power) this thing is bloody powerful. I will run it through the Chrono tomorrow to see what it is coming out as then adjust accordingly.

The second photo also shows my original Block 1 MWS for size comparison which is totally standard and totally bullet proof!

Well the results are in. I have to say that it seems more powerful than the actual numbers.

So the Block 1 which is standard is coming out at around the 260 fps using .32s and red gas

The TR1 DMS is coming out between 370 - 350 fps using .32s and red gas

I have a decent size garden so it was just short of 60m from firing point inside the outbuilding to the target. It is a little windy today but the DMR was firing straight with no hint of a drop off when it hit the target and it was still motoring when it got there.

Pretty pleased with the results but we will see when I use it in anger in a game.

Are those figures around the norm gents?

Hey Dave,

Long time no speak.

I was using Abbey Predator Ultra Red Gas, .32 non bio BBs. The temp today here is around 18 -19 degrees and it has an Orga 6.05 10.5 inch inner barrel.

Indeed, like me you havent been out and played in a while!

Your FPS is about right on with that barrel length, if you were running a 370 you would be 400-425 fps

Does anybody have a G&P G-Mag?

Picked one up recently and it’s having trouble locking the bolt back, not just on the last shot but on an empty mag.

Standard mags work fine, just ran 3 separate ones though it.

*EDIT - Nvm, found the reason ?

Just brought a MWS (my first GBBR), on the hunt for a sling plate and decent sling for it now.  Great thread here, I've read a chunk of it ?

I can whole heartedly recommend a TacBelts minimalist sling, super simple, quality is top notch and you won’t need to worry about mounting hardware.

Can’t go wrong with a ferro sling either, they are very popular for a reason.

I think it was mentioned waaaaay back in this thread but I had an Ergo “gapper” turn up today.

It sits in the tiny but annoying gap between the trigger guard and pistol grip, not an issue if your running a BCM MOD 3 but it’s made a massive difference for me running a smaller reptillia grip.

Would highly recommend for £6 or so.

Hello, I have recently joined the MWS club and bought the M4A1 and the MK18. The M4 have just few mags shot and I have a serious issue with the MK18, just after 8 mags. After finishing the 8th mag on full auto, the bolt failed to return fully, looks like the nozzle tip hit the hop chamber and get deformed slightly. Ever since then, the gun gets jammed after few shots. I am using green gas and 0,25 guarder BBs. After that I tried also the high polished bio BBs, same story. I am very surprised, been using GBB from Marui for ages and never had any issues….. I am looking for a replacement nozzle but mainly the dynamic precission ones are available. Are they any good ? Below a pic of my badboys:

Hi! Yes the DP and Modify nozzles work OK.

Is the piston lid seal sufficiently greased?

You mean the lid with two screws and the tip to catch the charging handle ?

Did anybody had such issue on a literally new gun ?

No, if you take the nozzle out of the bolt youll see a 17mm ish diameter cup seal, if that runs dry youll get issues.

Or easy diagnostic, swap the bolt between your guns and see if the problem moves to the other gun ;)

If you're nozzle is deformed in anyway, you will not get reliable feeds (If any). I had a similar problem using mine on it's first game day. Bolt failed to return properly, followed by a series of jams. When I inspected the nozzle it was deformed and had to be replaced. I've went through 3 nozzles, under 1000 rounds and in under just 2 month's of having the rig. You're going to need to buy a few nozzles and keep them as backup because they're extremely fragile even the ones that claim to be reinforced like the DP line.
