THE TM MWS thread

Hi guys, I would like to try propane with the MWS. Has anyone done it? If so, what bottles have you used and at what temperatures?

propane is something a fair few of us have tried. The main issue is getting a bottle adaptor to work with the MWS mags.

i use Coleman’s propane for my pistol and gas sniper rifle I buy it from GoOutdoors for £9 for a 400g bottle.
With so many people having issues I’m going to have a look into a solution hopefully we can work it out and we can all save money

I have bought the airsoft innovations adapter and now my question is that bottle buy that works well but does not exceed pressure

I am having a little trouble with the rear takedown pin wanting to part company a little too easily... I have the small spring that is supposed to retain it, but is there a pin or guide that I am missing? If it is just the tiny spring the retains the rear takedown pin, what's the correct way of installing it?
Thanks ?

EDIT: It looks like I may be missing part MGG2-141, the spring should slip onto this and prevent the pin from leaving the lower.

The only solution I have found thusfar is silent fill o-rings, but unfortunately when using those Full Auto becomes completely unusable. The BBs dribble out of the barrel.

Hey Tokyo-Jo,

Correct, there is a small pin that fits into the end of the spring at the take down pin side. It has a rounded end which then fits into the slot on the rear takedown pin and stops it from falling off.

Let me know if you can't get hold of one as I may have one knocking around in my spares.?

Ah, excellent. Thank you for the confirmation Rob. I already made an order to Japan for a couple of these just in case!

I was going to see if one of my machinist friends could turn on a lathe an extender in the same shape as a nuprol can nozzle as I personally think the propane adaptors don't open the valves properly causing the leakage.

Now, I may be crazy, but I reckon this works as well as the nozzle on a can of nuprol 2.0.  I may be wrong as I've just briefly tested it and I reckon it feels the same.

Update - getting a mag and a half to two out of one fill from a very old can of plumbers propane.  Filling is on par with a can of green gas not to say that I'm overly happy with it as it lags all over and it's hard to determine when you get that liquid spill to let you know it's full however it does reach and does fill.

I cannot find the Airsoft innovation fill adapter with three original plastic nozzle as they are all the 'improved' version with a metal nozzle. Are these an improvement over what I already have and are they worth the £25 extra?
Update, been using this for a bit now with Coleman propane, lags out everywhere like bit does the job..

Hello guys , how many bar has coleman´s bottle ?

I´m from spain and here not sell these propane and I must search alternatives

I use the plumbers/welders propane I guess you’d call it. Usually rothmans branded I think. Cans are tall like a GG can but thicker.

Fire support have got a few angry gun parts in stock, the misses just ordered me a airbourne charging handle for Christmas ?

hi @marine

just look for any gas called propane or mapp gas. it doesn't matter what brand, although you will need something that you can get an adapter for.

(mapp gas is typically used as a fuel source for brazing/silver soldering and therefore has the standard screw thread to fit on a blowtorch)

pressure changes a bit with temperature, which is why it's kept as a liquid inside the can/magazine by pressurising the can and therefore the magazine. so I can't really help on that front unfortunately.
