The recent heat wave and Marui plastic pistol slides

Slide cracked at the rear on my near new 18c earlier this year mid Feb I think so it's not just the hot weather and that's on abbey ultra. Yet my eleven plus years abused Hi Capa refuses to die.
The 18C is fairly notorious it has to be said; but the Capas are the exact opposite so it defo lines up (well I don't know about the XXXXXtreme auto one.. but the normal ones).

Full‑auto just beats the internals up way faster than semi. When the pistol’s cycling nonstop, any small wear or weak part shows itself pretty quick. Semi gives everything a tiny breather between shots, full‑auto doesn’t, so parts naturally fail sooner. Fun mode comes with a price.

Semi‑auto is always going to be gentler on the internals. Full‑auto is fun, but it’s a wear‑accelerator, and unless the pistol’s actually built for sustained auto fire, you’ll see parts fatigue much sooner.
