I've heard good things about Halfords camo paint, need to get some and try it out.

I have used the Halfords Olive Drab and Brown camo paints, they are great. Good price too

Interesting thread. I did a couple of rifs many years ago with Krylon, didn't consider clearcoating them afterwards so would be interested to know if this does offer greater paint protection in practical skirmish use. Also I wonder if it will keep the absolutely matt finish?

This is a mix of the Halfords brown and tan (Also camouflage range)
But it was painted at a distance to make it darker.

I’ve never done this before and yours looks amazing. Did you happen to record the process like as a YouTube video or something? I really want to learn how to do this so I can paint my rifleAfter prep which takes forever but is so important, this has to be the next worst stage in applying camo to a rifle.
Waiting. What feels like foreeevvveerrrr......
All I can do now is wait for 2 days so the paint gasses off enough for the clearcoat, but in my head what I want to do is reassemble the thing now (which would be a big no no).
Edit: Black, Brown, and OG Krylon along with Morrisons finest washing up liquid for the stencil for anyone curious.

The clearcoat loses the absolute matt finish , ends up very slightly satin
this is my L119 A2 build , Halfords camo black then clearcoated

My M4. The green, black and brown were all done with Halfords spray paint.
Years ago I did a side by side comparison of krylon and Halfords paint and couldn't see any difference in shade for the green or brown. The only downside to the Halfords range is you're limited to the 4 basic colours so if you want anything a bit more exotic you'll need to look around

There's a guy on youtube who uses hot glue (and dish soap in another plus other more unique methods) alongside RIT dye to camo 'paint' his mags and accessories and they look great. His content is actual firearms adjacent but i'd imagine the method would still work. His name is 'Blu Manchu'. Here's a link to a playlist of shorts of camo stuff he's done.
