The 'How Did Your Airsoft Day Go? Thread

Nice to see you rocking the AK, uh... oh M4 came out ?
It was actually the other way round I’ll have you know! ?? Started off the day using the Dye mask, couldn’t see shit courtesy of the rain so went back to the safe zone to swap out eye/face pro and figured I might as well swap out toys while I was there!

(This was also pre fitting the B-18 so the red dot was up front, looks cool as shit… but in practical terms didn’t get on with it at all ?)

Ta for the heads up, looks like I managed to successfully camera dodge for the duration I was there. Photos from my first game back following restrictions lifting went up today from the Dagger Woods lot though.

Any time.  Keep the website bookmarked, as they always have the marshals taking pics at every game, and the photos are almost always uploaded to the website by tuesday lunchtime after a game day.

And there have been a couple of games that i have managed to camera dodge too..

Can always rely on photos, to remind you how old you're getting... I'll be sticking to the helmet from now on I reckon, keep those greys under wraps ?.
No comment..  lol

Looking at those pics, i notice the writing on your mags, and i think we may have bumped into each other at one point at respawn

I know what you mean. My beard is about 50% grey but every picture of me out on the field makes me look like should be collecting a pension. Maybe it's time to put together a Dad's Army loadout

Baggsy I'm private Godfrey, we move at about the same speed lol.

Turned up on site at the usual time ready to Marshal for the day

Unusually low numbers meant that the opportunity to player marshal arose

Some of the usual protagonists were absent, which meant a good day with little to no issues. Managed to get a whole day playing with my new (to me) TM Ak74u . As I wasn’t expecting to play I took no pouches , or any usual playing gear. Had an awesome day

Then after packing up time I got paid too!!
Beat that ??

Well, packed up a nice lightweight loadout with the intention of getting a game in today after a night of getting some sleep at work….

To then spend the whole night running around the M25 because everyone and their mothers/daughters/fish were breaking down ?

Whats the saying? Best laid plans … ?

Had another fantastic day at Worthing yesterday. The m21 still performs amazingly, and the camo and concealment fieldcraft is still working better than most full ghillie snipers. Had a great game where me and my friend (who actually introduced me to airsoft when we were 14 and still at school) decided to hold a flank away from our base and came under fire. Everyone else who came with us got shot and had to head back to respawn, so it was just us, a pair of snipers, against the world. No ghillies needed, just solid camo and concealment practices and teamwork. He held the front with his VSR, while I covered his flank with my m21 (as I had no MED so anyone who got too close to him I could generally hit out). The other two guys we were on comms with came up after a while and we held the flank for the whole game, with only one of us getting hit and it was to friendly fire since even our team didn't know we were there. Speaking of comms, we were all testing our new earmors, since 3 of us are heading to ai500 and ear protection inside is advised, and I love them. I can hear absolutely everything around me, while shielding me from loud bangs that would damage my hearing and the comms setup itself is lovely and super clear when it comes through. The PTT is super solid to clip onto my rig and then find with minimal movement when I'm lying prone. Totally worth the £90 or so.

Also managed to test and set the hop and zero the scope for my spring VSR after setting it to 1.1J last week, since I was getting annoyed at the 2.3J setup. It was firing past 60m easily, and I could hit the 60m target literally 10/10 times, so I'm incredibly pleased. 1.1J means no MED, and reaching out to that distance with that accuracy is exactly what I wanted.

All in all, the day was a complete success and it was a great Sunday!

Played at a new site yesterday. It started off not so great, my h8r decided it doesn't want to keep the CO2 in anymore and prefers to spew it all out of the valve immediately leaving me without a sidearm (not the end of the world but sad as it was it's second time out and I've just sorted a holster for it), we started with a bizarre escort mission where one of your team couldn't die but had to sit in a wheelbarrow and be taken up a road, teams were really unbalanced with us having lots of rentals and the other side a lot of guys with snipers/dmrs and ghillie suits ended walking to safezone with my mate's brand new g3 that decided to just stop working. Came back out to defend and the guy in the barrow for their side decided to full auto me in the face under 10m with an ARP9, I have to admit I was starting to think an early home and spend the afternoon relaxing with a beer at this point. He also had to have his riot shield taken off of him as it made it near impossible to take out the guy pushing the barrow. they eventually won and there was a lot of grumbling from our side about sportsmanship and the fact that they were wiping the floor with us.

next game went a little better ARP9 guy was off sulking (his gun broke and he wasn't allowed his riot shield). Again teams were unbalanced but as they were defending on limited lives we were slowly cracking through them so it felt a little better and not just like being a target on a range. Lunch came and went and ARP9guy got called a few choice words (not by me) when he declared that "I don't aim,  I just spray people" I didn't see him after that point he appeared to pack up and leave as he wasn't at his table after the next game.

Afternoon games were both pushback and teams had been mixed up leading to better balance, both games were intense and highly fun to play. we started on the attack and clear communication and tactics pushed us through their defence with our snipers able to one counter-snipe but two provide cover so that we could push up and get in their faces, my squad led a huge flank on the final objective meaning the defenders had to fight on four fronts and quickly folded. Second game we managed to hold them off for a decent amount of time picking off the ones that got into range and calling targets for our boys with longer range, they slowly picked us off one by one but you could tell we were tiring them out, as the attacks got slower and the amount of full auto going up, second objective we setup around the castle with sparse defenders inside the castle, they had done a lot of flanking on the first objective so we expected attacks from multiple angles and that's what we ended up with they never got behind us but they hit us from 3 sides but they struggled to gain ground and eventually their attacks petered out with a lack of smoke and suppression they seemed to give up the assault as I assume they were also running low on ammo leading to the marshals to call it early we went back and packed away the atmosphere was better in the afternoon and with people bantering more.

My new Specna Arms 416 performed beautifully with a lot more range and accuracy than I expected from an out of the box gun and overall my squad had a lot of fun despite being covered in bramble cuts, we're getting our gear together and improving my shopping list now consists of more mags, fixing my pistol and a scope so I can see my targets a little better

Played last sunday @ ACE AIRSOFT in West Midlands... Was a good day, ruined slightly by a few peeps not taking their hits.  Marshals to their credit once made aware of the situation dealt with the persons. (Few peeps said they're were never coming back?  Least give the Marshals time to deal with them first eh?)  After lunch things got a little salty as Red's dominated the Blues.  I volunteered to switch sides, but still stayed on Red.  Due to some of the, lets say slow reactions to hit taking, I switched things up a little and opted to take out the Drum mag and use Full Auto. (After lowering pressure and re-chrono with marshals, seeing as I was running it @ DMR levels in the morning.  I like to play mainly single shot, but I think it warranted Full auto today.)

Anyway...I took out my new Scopecam2 4k camera and got some nice footage I think, later part of the vid I get some nice killstreaks.  Strykerles takes a bad hit in the eye and causes concern and I call "mandown" so marshals can make sure he was ok!  He was.. :)

It's my 2nd ever vid posted on YT so still learning....

Pretty good day today with Ex-Workmate Eddie at Biohazard.  Quick respawns, intense action, good hit taking, lots of pistol play and MP5K Master Race point-blank larks.

They even started (almost) on time and kept the lunch and breaks short, we got a fair amount of actual play in.

As usual though, the briefs were rushed through and full of "obviously" and "you all know", aimed at the regulars who do all know.

If you think people don't need briefed, why are you doing a briefing?

Just got back from a tournament.

Haven't had more than 15 hours of sleep combined last week, so I was ultra exhausted, nonetheless it was a really fun event and I think we got a nice first place (results are expected today, will confirm/deny later).

Oh, it never stopped raining, I was soaked until like 30 minutes ago.

EDIT: results are out, we ended up being 4th out of 12 teams, between us and the first place there are less than 200 points of difference, which is next to nothing, between us and the 5th place there are about 1500 points, which is almost two complete objectives.

Played at Combat Airsoft Games in Norfolk yesterday with my two sons and two of their friends.

Really good setup and the marshalls were very friendly, efficient, and attentive in game

The safety briefing didn't take too long although may have seemed a little too brief if it was your first time?

Good mix of game types and scenarios with moonshone and helo's involved.

Interesting that there seemed to be a big group there for just the morning session and when they left at lunch time there didn't seem to be any more issues with people not taking their hits which was starting to get quite heated in the morning.

Overall a great day out and the weather held.

Mmm, I have a concern about some teams or squads who are more into the brotherhood-of-bros, dress-up, socialising or LARPing aspects, rather than just playing airsoft.

And it's great when the folk who aren't really there to play airsoft pack up and push off in the afternoon, I find the games tend to get more fun.

Of course, not all teams.  If you're reading this, I'm almost certainly not referring to you.

The atmosphere completely changed in the afternoon, much more relaxed and everyone just seemed to be enjoying it more.

It happens more often than I'd like but it's part of the game unfortunately.

What an amazing day at Worthing! New gun is wonderful, hops .36s out to 50m even while lacking in power a bit, so there's room for improvement. Even my goggle fan running out of power and a morning of not being able to see much (I got it sorted at lunch, and a new love for revision anti-fog wipes) couldn't put much of a damper on the amazing rolling defence game of the afternoon. Some excellent defense and enemy callouts from yellow, and some great coordinated pushes from blue. My new camo hood and loadout was proven to work. Almost got stepped on a few times, and there were many claims of a sniper (It's a <1j aeg) while I held the flank with a few others for a good 10 minutes. Took about 6 of them to weed me out ?

All in all a wonderful day, one of those where you realise how much you love this sport.

Today was a very short (rainy) day.

Played three games then a lightning struck a hill literally 300m from us, we decided to fuck off right after :P

Nonetheless those three games were super fun :)
