Stupid question.

Probably a stupid question, but just how waterproof are the aegs? Trying to go Airsofting this weekend but the forecast is predicting rain. Id rather not destroy our new toys, but my son is desperate to go. 

Any advice gratefully received.

Just being out in the Rain isn't going to damage your AEGs, just keep the barrel pointed downwards so no rain gets inside, and make sure to dry it off at the end of the day.

Short of submerging it in water you’ll be fine. You’ll have given up with the weather long before your gun does. 
 

As said, just make sure you dry it thoroughly when you get home.

Brilliant, thanks guys. I shall follow your advice. I always keep them all inside when not in use and I can put a portable dehumidifier in the room overnight to remove any excess moisture.

I can't be the only one with a spare bedroom named "the gun room"..

The electrics are inside, and some electronics are coated these days (I don’t know whether any of the branded airsoft electronics benefit from coating)

Unless your equipment is soaked it will be fine

Wipe dry at any opportunity during the day, and make sure it’s dried off before storing afterwards

I can confirm, you are not! The wife objects to me referring to it as such when we have guests staying though!

Mines jammed with all my tents, camping and hiking gear too. Why have one tent when you can have 4 or 5.

It's like go outdoors in there. The wife refuses to enter or clean it.

Probably for the best, my gun room/man cave is the equivelant of my Grandad's workshop/shed.

I've seen mosfets die or go on the fritz in heavy rain as they're a bit more exposed than normal AEG electronics, but normal AEG electronics are pretty good in the rain. If there are torrential downpours you may get some issues, but in general you'll be fine

Collect a few of those silica gel packets and keep them in your gun case. Wipe your guns dry when you get home (don't leave them overnight). The electronics will be fine but you can get this powdery oxidisation on the reciever and screws going rusty over time

It proper pissed down for the first half of the morning, only 2 rifs got wet luckily. Wiped em down as often as possible and all my gear is now in the "gun room" with the dehumidifier going. We had a great time, we took plenty of shots and have the bruises to prove it.
