Anyone know if there is an insert you can get to convert the magwell of an SR25/AR10 (7.62) to accept AR15/M4 mags?

Have to say, in all my time I've never seen such a thing in a shop. Might well be a 3D print file out there somewhere in the depths of the internet, or find someone who's a whizz with modelling software and ready your wallet.

Even so, it doesn't cause me to cringe like seeing AR mags in a pistol HPA adapter.

It's a not-uncommon (ish) real gun concept. The Mk17 in service with US SOCOM had adapter kits for 556 mags. The Colt 901 was a single lower with a 762 NATO sized mag well and an adapter block to size down to 556.
Various other examples exist as well. Certainly lots of civvie weapons on the US market with this feature or similar in some way or another.
