Special Forces SIM Game

Early days at the moment. I will release details if anything comes of the discussions.

Good stuff. This is the kind of thing we need if the sport is going to evolve and grow.

Fully agree. Talking to a few sites, they are just interested in churning out the same tired skirmish games. Its nice to talk to some people with a bit of vision.

Yup, we need a half way house between the usual Skirmish games which can get repetative after a while and full on 'Milsim' which involves a lot of tedious 'soldier stuff' between the fun shooting bits.

Agreed again and that is exactly where Im pitching. The full on milsims frighten me slightly or to be precise, some of the personalities do.

Pretty much the whole LARP world runs on this mechanic, the players pay full ticket price while volunteers get in for free or something along the lines of 10% ticket price and play the bad guys (which can be really fun), depending on where the site is i'd happilt be an evil merc for the day. First post by the way hi guys and girls.

Welcome to the forum, Kriegar.

Personally, I have no problem in playing the bad guy at a reduced rate either, but there you go.

As a noob I'd definately be up for this.

It would give valuable experience & be pretty fun on top of it all.

I am due to have discussions on this subject with the site shortly and will revert when I have something to tell you.

OK - Update.

The SIM will be played at the RIFT site in Chipping Walden just North of Banbury in the first quarter of the New Year.

I should have a firm date in the next fortnight and will update you.

Camping is available for those who have to travel from far away places.

Ah you lucky buggers living near good sites ((and near each other?)), this sounds really amazing :'<

If I only wouldnt live in a place like this, I guess more fun with airsoft could of happen like this.

I don't - its two hours away from me.

I don't - its two hours away from me.
Better than 5 hours by public transport from here lol ((No I dont own a vehicle xd altho I might start to plan on finishing my Provisional License xd))

Fvck knows how long it will take me on public transport, but probably several hours.

I was at RIFT for a game yesterday.

The weather was absolutely awful - the rain didn't let up until the last two games of the day.

Luckily the site has a covered safe zone and a lot of buildings and dry bunkers, so at least its possible to get out of the rain, which bodes well for a winter sim.

The site operator has vision about different types of games and the terrain lends itself to lots of imaginative gameplay so looking forward to it immensely.
