Evening all,

I've got an issue with my AEG rifle where the barrel/hand guard has come loose (see video). I've tried tightening the retention bolts but it's made no difference, so I tried to take the hand guard off to try and investigate some more.

HOWEVER...........

The damn hand guard won't come off... It wiggles up and down about 1cm, and swivels left and right, but it won't actually come all the way off.

If anyone has any suggestions, I'd be much obliged!

Unless somebody owns or has worked on this AEG, it may be worth specifying the brand and model though I guess it's based on the AR family.

Is there a bolt within the handguard under the black Keymod picatinny rail? Is there a faux gas tube whose mount needs to be removed?

Hi galvatron!

The only issue with that is that I bought it from someone I worked with a while back and never got the exact model. All I know is that it's a Valken Tactical M4 style AEG.

I'm not too sure about any faux gas tubes, but I'll take the fore grip off shortly and see if there is a mother bolt hiding under it!!

Have you removed the two grub screws on the side of the handguard that press against the receiver? Have you removed the two bolts that run through the base of the urgi handguard?

I could be wrong but the URGI rail is MLOK and not KEYMOD.

Kyle, if you could let us know the make and modal of the gun or post a better image of the rail so we can identify it.

Hi everyone, I've managed to get the outer barrel off now, there were 8 very small Allen screws around the base of the outer barrel that didn't look like they connected to anything, but as it turns out they were just poking out enough on the other side to hold the barrel in place... I have fixed the rotary wobble, however it still moves up and down. I need to get some longer retention bolts than the stock ones and put a nut on the end of each one as I've cross threaded the female portion retention bolt assembly.

Thank you all for your help!!

Thank you for following up, now we've all learned.
