Hi guys and girls,

I recently recieved the parts of an AGM Sten from a friend. It came my way in fairly poor condition, for example the paint was a crappy green two-tone that was 80% worn down. Anyway I took it on as a restoration project and I'm more than halfway there but there are a few things keeping me from having a nice restored Sten gun.

I have broken the objectives down into specific chunks to make it it easier for people to read.

The Gearbox

You may or may not know that the Sten uses a version 7 gearbox. My problem with this is that I have read that most of the gearbox parts are compatible with version 2/3 but I don't know specifically what parts. To be more specific the gearbox is missing its anti reversal latch. If anyone could give me a list of what parts are compatible that would be awesome.

The Externals

the Sten was missing a few screws when it came and it still is missing one or two. if anyone has a Sten and could tell me the size of the screws that hold the upper and lower receiver together that would be great.

Also if anyone knows if the 110 round magazines work in the Sten that would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance guys :D

Any mag that fits in the AGM MP40 will fit the Sten. The two were comparable IRL, as are the airsoft mags.

Yes the King arms 110rd mags work. They also actually hold 135 rounds.

Sometimes they can be a bit of a PITA with certain Stens though. The issue is usually that the catch sticks out too far on the mags for the hop unit to push it in successfully. If you get this issue then a slither of plastic can be glued to the leading edge of the grippy bit of the mag catch so it doesn't stick out as far.

A quick google for ver 7 anti reversal latch gives this:

No idea what size threads are on those screws but in my experience, if they are missing, the thread has probably been stripped. Consider using a self tapping screw to replace it.
