Does anyone know of a shop in the UK who have the fill valve for a GE 870 sawn off? The only shops I can find stocking them are abroad and I don't want to pay over double the price for postage etc. Alternatively if anyone knows of an alternative which fits I'll be very gratefull

On my Army Armament L85, one of the wires going into the tamiya connector is so loose it can be pulled from the connector quite easily. Would it be okay to use a dab of super glue to keep the wire in place?

You could do that. is the pin that connects to the battery nice and tight? 

Don't glue it while gun and bat are connected or you may glue them together lol.

Change to deans or xt, just don't for get that you'll need to change tour battery and charger too.

Thanks for the answers, I plan on changing to deans later down the line when I add a mosfet to the gun but for now I just wanted a quick fix to stop the wire pulling out of the connector.

Probably just taping the two wires together while they are firmly in the plug would be enough to keep you going (assuming the other wire is good).

The quick fix is to pip it all the way out and lift the two tabs that hold the connector into the outer shell then pop it back in. While it's out you could also close up the tips toget a firmer grip on the parts when the plug is together.

Just got my hands on a chronograph (Acetech AC6000BT). Does it require calibration or does it just work out of the box?

Is calibration even a thing? I can't see anything like that referenced in the manual.

What would you calibrate it against?

I don't know about 'fancy' chronos, but my cheap-ass little AliBaba-special has no option to do such a thing.   You can expect chrono's to disagree by a few fps, so allow for it to return a few fps lower than a site chrono, just to be safe.

An excellent point. I ask because my last game day I overheard marshals questioning if one of their chrono units was on the fizz, and one of them insisted that he "calibrated all of them tournament standards" (or something like that - my memory is fuzzy on the exact wording).

Chrono readings vary even with the same make so don't try to get to the limit of fps because at a site it may read too high.

Nah, that's not a thing.  I mean, they may have a fancy-pants chrono that they're testing their XXXTECHS against, but that's all they're doing. And it's all you need to do as well. I take my chrono to sites and chickety-check myself before the marshals shuffle up 10 minutes late so if I ever do get bounced at that site at least I can compensate next time.

Context: I've already got a DC shooters belt, it's got a holster for my pistol as well as carriers for pistol & 308 mags. But then I went and bought another pew so need to work out what to do when I want to change toys mid-gameday.

So, am thinking a minimalistic chest rig could be a goer but are they wearable while also wearing a belt? or do I need to swap mag holsters in the safe zone (not ideal).

You have two options:

A) A chest rig that takes inserts (Spiritus Systems Mk3/4/5 chassis, F9 Gear Ammo Hub, Haley D3CRM and clones)

B) A chest rig with TACO style pouches, they take all sorts of mags

C) Helikon Tex TMR, although this one is weird because the two side rifle pouches only accept AR/AK mags whereas the two middle ones are wide enough to take AR10 mags.

Most chest rigs are perfectly fine in conjunction with a belt as long as you wear them as intended (clue's in the name, CHEST rig, not BELLY rig), the sole exception being something HUGE like a Platatac Peacekeeper or an older RRV style rig.

Yes, you can absolutely run a chest rig with a shooters belt. I run my Platatac Peacekeeper with a shooters belt too so unless you're a midget, you'll be fine.

Alternatively, if you want to stick to the belt mounted mag carriers, have you thought about fitting them with QLS mounts? That way you don't have to fuck about getting the carrier OFF the belt as such as the base part stays put, you just swap over the actual holstery bit.

I've recently set up my Plate Carrier with a belt to spread some of the weight around.

I haven't gone to a game with it yet but when I have had it on in the house getting it all to fit, it feels very comfortable.

Yes. I've been using a SADF M83 chest rig with belt kit for years with no problems. Just make sure it's worn correctly on your chest, not the stomach like some tin pot dictator on a PR trip visiting troops.
