Looks like patrolbase and evike are teaming up. Not sure what this means other than more products available from patrolbase. I never bought anything from evike Europe because the delivery prices were so high.

Unless they've struck gold, this has to be drop shipping for the majority of it surely. That always seemed like what the Europe operation was (from only briefly looking). Brownells UK is the same thing (as a relevant, similar example).
 
Have to agree with TheFull9, it's basically just drop shipping from Evike Europe, which in itself is drop shipped... I can't really think of many Evike products that we're really missing out on anyway?
 
This is massive for me. They sell lots of weird m700 parts, so as long as I can get them to get stuff in, this'll be a big win for me.

However, the Tanaka/KJW m700 is an incredibly niche platform. So this is great news for us weird niche gas bolt action people at least 😂
 
I think once many years ago I saw a part on evike that I couldn't get anywhere else. Other than that I've not felt like I'm missing out like you say 👍. Time will tell...
 
Last I tried, you couldn't checkout at evike.com with anything but a US payment card/shipping address and they definitely have a big selection, no doubt there. I've had a mate over there forward bits on for me that were really vital to a few builds and there's lots of other things I think look good or interesting. So more choice is never a bad thing, my previous post was just dissecting their wording somewhat.

I think a lot of people would read "available" in the normal way i.e. stocked physically at PB, which again I doubt is the case. Presumably there'll be a decent mark-up on all the items they only import 1 at a time for customers along with a fair old wait. Which again I'm fine with, it's objectively better than not being able to get something at all, just would like to see more details.

We shall see- on their info page, it says there will be a 14 day delivery period, but with their standard postage charge- so definitely a drop shipping type arrangement. I suppose the mark up all depends on how much PB feel they can wring out of us whilst we still feel the savings on international postage and potential customs charges are worthwhile.
 
That's good, it was years ago when I last tried as I don't usually get stuff sent direct; could've been a brief block or maybe my old brain is just failing. Looks like you can buy direct now so be interesting to see the comparison on overall cost.

The implications can reach further than Patrol Base. Patrol Base doesn't just do B2C, it's a B2B wholesaler and reseller, like we've seen with BZ Tactical as its business expanded.

I hope both product availability widens in the UK and that lead times shorten. I usually advocate for buying from British retailers but the reluctance to buy some products in larger quantities (if at all), especially GBBR parts, for stock in the UK frustrates me sometimes.
