Patrol Base’s approach to shipping a long barrel.

How has it not fallen out?

You can buy long tubes to ship stuff like that. I would have shipped separately in a tube, guess they didn't want to split the postage money :ROFLMAO:

Mate of mine ordered a pistol from them that came with a pistol case. The pistol case was smashed to bits inside, as they chucked it in the box with no filler, along with 2 large cans of gas and some heavy mags. Even a large bag of bbs (2-3k) inside that had split open and emptied everywhere. So this does not surprise me lol. I have ordered a few things from them, but prefer Fire Support these days.

Bloody hell that box looks like it's been kicked around the courier warehouse too.

Have you spoken to patrolbase and if so what did they say?
They blamed the courier, but agreed that it was their box and had not been repackaged by the courier, which is not a coherent position. They have refunded the postage and I now have a £15 voucher. As the barrel is still straight, I am happy with that.

The barrel was the only item, so the packaging really baffled me. I was expecting it to arrive in a cardboard tube.

An extract from their email to me confirming the refund and the voucher:

"I do apologise for the way you received your order from us, i have refunded you £9.95 for your full shipping, as well as a £15 goodwill voucher to try to make up for the inconvenience DPD have caused.
We will contact DPD and raise the issue with them about how poorly you have received your order.

******* this is the £15 voucher, i really hope this can make up for the lack of respect the delivery drivers have."

I have pointed out that it was not packed that way by DPD.

Shipping in general is a shambles at the moment. I work in quite a technically sensitive medical industry and some of the product we receive is smashed to pieces in a single ply cardboard box as it hasn't been packed properly or lost as it went in a van, wasn't delivered so the driver chucked in the bin when he got home. You did well for the barrel not to be bent in half.
