Thank you everyone once again one last thing how often do u oil/clean the gun itself?

It's so easy to fall into a massive rabbit hole with airsoft, and once you get one thing, there will always be something else you can convince yourself you "need" to buy to go with it ?

Don't be put off or intimidated by people at the site who are carrying enough kit to stage a revolution. Most of it is for show, as that forms part of the hobby too. You and your lad are squaring away the basics, and the extras you're asking about are all sensible progressions.

Keep the questions coming as people like your boy are the future of the hobby. We want you guys to enjoy it and keep coming back for more.

Just make sure you clean all the external dirt of the gun when you get home, and give the barrel a clean every few games. Some people do this every game, which is no bad thing, but not absolutely necessary.

For gas guns, give them a bit more TLC, cleaning and lightly lubricating, and always keep a bit of gas in the magazines to keep the o-rings from drying out and shrinking.

Thank you everyone for ur advice today.. im sure I'll have plenty more questions to ask u all in time....all I can says is he's itching to get going now

The black deployment bag is a good investment.

It's big enough to fit a normal gun inside (long guns won't fit), as well as all your kit. For the money you won't find a better bag. It also means you can take clean clothes and change before you head home, so you are dry, warm, and not filling the car with mud. It also gives you a place to keep everything together when you store it at home.

I have a couple of those bags and they get a lot of use.

One other thing Danny is going on about is a body armor..what's this for and will it be any help to him?

Its for looks only.

Some people are really into dressing up in the proper looking gear but you obviously don't need armour for airsoft and can actually be a pain because they don't feel hits properly.

Also it tends to be bulky so movement can be restricted.

You do need some kind of webbing to hold magazines and other bits.

Hi @Colinc1968! ?

@EDcase is right, on all accounts! ???

Up to you though, consider your budget, honestly people that go for the body armour, which you hit makes a distinctive sound, which you may not feel.... which has led to some cheaters not calling their hits! ?

Hope this helps? ?

Depends on what look he is going for.... ?

Best thing is to find out, like you said so many choices, brands, colour, design, etc! ?

Then compare prices, before buying, hardest part is having an idea, then a few games later, finding out that Loadout is not what you expected!? ?

Many of us have been there!!!! ?

Your ?, if you have any pics, put them up here and people will give their opinions, pros & cons, massive help! ???
