Hi all I'm new, from the West Mids and looking to get into the sport. Having not taken advice off of many people I've ended up with a two tone AEG!

Can anyone recommend sites by me that will not look down on me and my childrens painted gun and also perhaps rent out to any buds that tag along?

Cheers!

Majority of sites won't care if you have a two-tone. It's only specialist sites that try to keep the game 'immersive' despite it not being a milsim that care about two-tone guns. You're more likely to be judged by other players.

Also - Every site I've been to offers rental packages.

Thanks for the quick reply. And by "judged by other players" surely

you mean..... Positively?

Well I don't mean you'll get insulted if that's what you're asking. You'll just get a few players that will keep away from two-toners for one of the following:

  • "Ugh noob two-toner. He'll get us killed"
  • "His gun is bright and will give me away" (personal favourite)
  • "I am here to simulate being in the army despite it not being a milsim."
Go with whatever gun you want man. If it's two-tone, it's two-tone. I personally advise against them as you'll end up wanting to not have a two-tone and some point so it's money wasted, but it's your time.

Your childs toy that can still take an eye out permamnenelty under the right, or should I say wrong circumstances.

In all seriousness, I played my first half dozen games with a black and bright blue shotgun and nobody judged me.

Not to your face

I don't care if a player uses a two tone or not. Personally I think they look hideous but won't judge somebody for using one. For most players it's just getting on with the law we all have to abide by. Others may see things differently but that's my two cents.

As long as you're there playing airsoft then you'll be made to feel welcome.

Only the knobheads will give you stick for not having a black gun. Don't let them get to you. :)

Spray paint the whole thing bright yellow or pink and say your load out is inspired by the gangsters from Chappie  :D

(I'd be lying if it said I havn't thought about doing this...)

Even skins from games such as CSGO look decent when done right. Might appeal to OP's kid more as (I assume) that's the type of game they'd play.

Thanks everyone for your replies, I was at work so couldn't get back to you. Great reception to be honest, this is the first airsoft forum I came to and I think I've made the right choice ;)

FYIs the gun is two tone blue, and doesn't look that bad to me, tbh! However I was under the impression (after looking for a very long time) that should I become registered UKARA or even just deem myself as having a valid defence (UKARA is proof, but not necessarily a license)... Then I can change the colour to whatever I need. (I'm sure I'll be corrected here if I'm mistaken).

I do not have kids but I do like some of the setups I've seen on some of the airsoft AR15s

Oh yeah and I dislike COD and never played CS, hopefully I don't disappoint too many people here saying that

Hi Mate, welcome to the forums.

Plenty of good sites round the west mids which rent out kit. My local is Stormforce, a company called sixmil rent out gear for any friends which wanna tag along.

As for two toning, i had one for near enough 18 months, no one batted an eyelid.

At the end of the day its a toy gun, whether its black or bright green it wont make a difference to it spewing BB's out at enemies...

Firstly, welcome :D

OK west midland sites

As already mentioned by Webster, there's

stormforce, between Lichfield and Rugeley, woodlands(also my local)

Bravo 1 in Brum (indoor cqb)

The Grange near Brum (outdoor)

Then you have West Midlands Airsoft FOB (outdoors)

West Midlands High Command (CQB in Brum, Rowley Regis)

And there's also Bassett's Pole (not fireball squadron, they are elite guys) as they have recently started doing walk ones for airsoft.

That's just the first sites I can think of, all of which are within an hour or so of me lol.

That is a good point. I took it out in the garden for a plink (and to see if it works) and I am fairly impressed with the accuracy and consistency of fire. Although I did have an issue when I tried to load the high cap mag (never even heard of these before) with 15 BBS B)

I'm sure GearTech could produce something similar...

I've no doubt. But as I no longer own a Glock my dream will have to wait.

I think that would be classified as an RIF

...It is sweet though, although I'd prefer a 19 for comfortab...hey! I don't want to buy anything else for a while, stop it :D

And yes, it would. But it's just one example of the many skins out there. There's plenty that would fall under the IF category such as the Asiimov. I just picked this one out as it's the one skin I do own in the game.
