I just received my dream end game AEG, the CYMA CM.103 AK Alfa Platinum Edition, and I’ve run into a big issue. I’m wondering if anyone here can help.

This AEG has a custom fitted outer barrel, so I can’t simply buy a replacement barrel or swap it for another one. It also doesn’t have a 14mm CCW thread, so I can’t mount a tracer unit directly.

I’ve already contacted around eight different tech shops asking if they can provide a outer barrel shortening and rethreading service, but none of them are able to do it.

So I’m asking here in case anyone knows where I could get this service done, ideally somewhere in or near London.

What size are the threads under the flash hider? If it's the common enough 24mm CCW you could buy something like the 5ku pbs1 suppressor that fits them and pop a tracer inside of that?

Or, again assuming it's 24mm... You can get a 24mm to 14mm adapter I'm pretty sure. Looks ugly but would allow more "normalised" tracer units

Hell there might be a grub screw you can unscrew to remove the 24mm to get to the 14mm underneath like on my cm.040b. barrel shortening and rethreading should be the absolute last resort

It literally has no threads. I removed the little pin and took off the flash hider, and underneath there were zero threads. It was just a straight tube with a small cut out where the pin sits. I completely forgot to take a picture for reference, but yeah no threads at all.

That's a tad odd like must be a quirk of the niche design. 3d printed adaptors might the way to go if your after a tracer/suppressor someone might have a replacement threaded flash hider replacement up on thingiverse

Unless you want the look of a tracer/silencer, have a look at the Cyma tracer hop unit that should be a direct fit.

Aside from how hideous it is... the good news is it does take AK hop units so the tracer one will work. I don't think the real thing has a changeable muzzle device either.

i do, as im trying to replicate this exact look which i already have the parts for ready just cant attach the silencer cause of the thread

i personally love it especially when it look like this with accessories thats why im looking for advice or help where i can get this done as i do want the silencer to be flush with the gasblock and the silencer i have has a tracer unit already inside it too

Most airsoft tech ls aren't set up for custom work, just changing parts with maybe a little use of a Dremel to remove material to help things fit. You'd probably need to go to a proper machine shop but don't be surprised if they're unwilling to touch anything gun like, even if it is only airsoft.

If your dead set on an exact look it may have to come to picking up the tools and learning yourself I'm afraid mate. I mean to be ultra DIY could you retain the bits of the flash hider that pin to the barrel then Dremel off the rest and epoxy on the silencer/tracer unit to it?

If you can even find a machine shop they're unlikely to take on something like that. Small single jobs often aren't worth it.

Even the places that do machining/engineering on engines are all dying out.

I only know of one "place" that does this kind of stuff, but they.. uh.. don't deal with the general public.
