Need help on a British army N.I load out (1960-70's)!

You don't need to wear a 'regimental' beret. Wear a Navy Blue beret. it is the 'default' colour. Or. wear a khaki one. just leave off a regimental badge if you have any qualms. there is a recent thread somewhere that goes into quite a lot of detail on what beret to wear.

Would not mind one of these yokes for real.

If you are interested I can give you smock and trouser maybe a parka aswell for rigth exchange rate.

Instead of a Regimental beret have you considered the much maligned DPM combat cap, better know to many as a "crap hat"? definitely from the era and very much non regimental, if you wanted to avoid a helmet? like these?

No good for NI

Just wear a beret. It's only playing soldiers.

Crap hat means those who don't wear special forces berets like the commandos/paras etc.

Looks great...Can i ask why the Royal Irish?? Only reason i'm asking is i'm Ex Royal Irish Rangers ....."Clear the Way" ;-)

Had the SLR at the late stages then went onto the L8A1 and Mk6 Helmet. But my main weapon...not of choice was the GYMPY something to do with me being the biggest/tallest..

Wore the Tin Hat, later the MK6 although we did some patrols wearing a normal Beret.

Looked quite like the UDR though. Who since their amalgamation with the Royal Irish in about 92 are now the Royal Irish Regiment and like Captain Swoop say's it's just playing soldiers...and is your way of paying respect ;-)

Nice pic of Brian Boru
