Modified TM glock issue

I’ve got an issue with a modified glock 17.

when firing it seems as if the hammer is struggling to press the valve hard enough to release enough gas to complete a cycle, i’ve tried a harder hammer spring and a lighter recoil spring but the issue still persists.

before i mess about stripping all my mags and messing around with different gasses has anyone had a similar issue?

Gen 5 i believe. The current newest TM do.

Which Gas, 110 psi, 130 psi, above?

It's called light striking.

My gen 3 TM G17 does the same with green gas in late spring to autumn.. It is also magazine (or rather fill valve) dependant.

Noticed that short fill valves tend to aggravate the issue because of the higher overall pressure stored inside the mag, whereas long fill valves don't allow as much.

I presume that you are using the genuine TM magazines? I have a variety of visually identical glock mags - WE, Action army, E&C, Army armament - with the exception of the WE mags, they all randomly light strike in different pistols.

It’s guarder gas i’m using. Which is pretty high pressure but it’s also done it with green gas.

all mags are standard TM apart from nineball gas routers.

The gen5 has a pivoting valve knocker. I’ve found Marui packed the hammer mechanisms with too much grease. This means the valve knocker doesn’t retract fully, and therefore is pivoted when ready to fire. It then glances off the output valve, creating a light strike.

In my testing, the stock Marui hammer spring struggled with green gas at room temperature. I upgraded to the CCT 120% spring and it works fine. But struggled with Nuprol 3.0 in a warm room. So it might not be all that surprising that a stock hammer spring is light striking on guarder.

On the gen4 or less, a warped hammer frame or hammer can create a light strike, regardless of how strong your hammer spring is.
