Lambda/DCA GPMG

I've just had a Trigger Happy M240 turn up yesterday, with a quick-detach removable barrel and hop unit like the thing, and that'll be being sold cheaper than the DCA version
Ah you slag - i think you got the one i was after, and the seller just stopped replying

As per the DCA facebook page, barrel production is underway. Would certainly go for an aluminium one myself, as the guts of ten kilos would be enough to lug around.

Small bit of progress. DCA have a video of the prototype. Should be out in 2025 if we are lucky.

Seems like they are prioritizing the L7A2. Nice if you pre-ordered one, the M240B/L will be taking longer.

My wallet says "no".

My back says "no" (maybe 20 years ago!).

But my mind says "do it anyway".

One of the more interesting projects for 2025. As you point out, it would very much be a heart rather than brain purchase.

The one concern I would have is that Lambda make their gearbox somewhat proprietary in its fit. One of the threads over at Arnies

mentioned the gearbox mounting holes as being different spec than the A&K 249 box in one of their MK48 variants.

It will be slightly proprietary, as its an internal magazine. Similar to the vfc m249, but with the choice to buy a jungle tin if you want an actual box mag.

I just hope they get it right.

As I have been involved in this from day one.

Infact it's my GPMG that has been used for all the measurements and all my info I've gathered over the years for them to get it right.

Yes there maybe teething problems to start. As theyre hoping to have the prototype finished soon, and a working video of it shooting in next few weeks.

(And no, I'm not affiliated with Dave. But I was sort out to help by both him and lambda with this, as I built my own gpmg from scratch. Hence I know what's gone into this project.)

If you're gonna tease us like that you could at least wear a bikini.

Here's one of the top loading mag trials....

If you head to the British Forces image thread.

I made a massive post about it.

It's a long, but hopefully good read. And can see every little detail that went into it.

And it's this detail going into this gpmg project above.

Just an update to say things have gone very sour. As per DCA's Instagram:

Dave's Custom Airsoft LTD are appealing for help and support from the International Airsoft Community, including fellow businesses, media, and airsoft players, with relation to fraudulant activity.

As many of you will know we entered into a contract with Lambda Defence, the director of which also owns 'Raptor', and, several other airsoft brands.

Unfortunately despite many promises being made over 3 years ago, Lambda Defence failed to provide the products that were contractually agreed, and, has only provided a single sub-quality sample. They have refused to refund our initial investment of $53,000 USD despite multiple legal warnings from us that this were required.

In the past months DCA have initiated legal action against Lambda Defence, however, we have been informed by the court in Taiwan that the company has been liquidated, with funds owed to multiple other airsoft companies also. Assets have no doubt simply been 'moved' to the 'Raptor' brand in a fraudulant attempt to steel funds from various companies.

DCA will continue to persue the director of the late Lambda Defence, and, 'Raptor' personally in an attempt to recover the stolen funds, however there are no guarantees.

We kindly appeal for any and all help and support that the kind Airsoft industry maybe able to offer us in anyway. It is vital to me personally that we ensure that the director of the Late Lambda Defence / 'Raptor' is no longer able to operate within the airsoft industry, and, that no further fraudulant business activities are enabled.

Of course as a highly reputable company we stand by our customers no matter what, and, we will ensure all customers are issued with store credit, refunds or alternative goods to satisfy any amounts paid to us in good faith.

As Director of DCA I personally, deeply apologise to our customers who have supporter us on this project, only to be so utterly let down by the company director of Lambda Defence and 'Raptor' who in hindsight clearly entered into this project with the expressed intention of actively defrauding us, and, our customers as well as others in the airsoft industry.

Thank you for your understanding,
Dave

Meanwhile on Lambdas Facebook:

Official statement
Lambda Defence is aware of the statement published by Dave’s Custom Airsoft LTD.
We strongly dispute the allegations presented. The situation described is neither complete nor accurately reflects the facts or the contractual relationship between the parties.
Over the course of this project, there were differing interpretations between the parties regarding development timelines, deliverables, and project milestones. Lambda Defence has continuously invested resources and funding into the development, providing multiple stages of progress, revisions, and deliverables.
We would also like to clarify that the sample provided was manufactured through full steel CNC machining, representing a substantial investment in both cost and engineering effort. At the time of delivery, the counterparty expressed satisfaction with the machining quality and level of detail. It is therefore inconsistent to later characterize the same sample as being of poor quality.
However, while the project remained ongoing and significant resources had already been committed, the counterparty unilaterally altered the pace of cooperation and raised demands relating to funding, which materially impacted the progression of the project. Such actions are not consistent with standard practices in long-term product development.
We acknowledge that delays occurred during the development process and regret any inconvenience caused. In response, we have been committed to addressing the situation through structured and phased solutions, including staged refunds where appropriate, rather than actions that could abruptly disrupt the project’s continuity.
Delays and adjustments are not uncommon in complex development projects. Any characterization of “non-delivery” or “fraudulent intent” is misleading and does not reflect the full scope of communications and agreements between the parties.
Regarding the claim of liquidation, the structure and status of the entities involved have been inaccurately represented. Any transfer or allocation of assets has been conducted within applicable legal frameworks and does not constitute wrongdoing.
The company is currently reviewing the matter with legal counsel. We remain committed to resolving the matter in a reasonable and constructive manner, while reserving all rights to take appropriate legal action if necessary.

Yeah read Lambdas response. What a mess. I appreciate you showing both sides of the story.

What I do know though is that Raptor's take on things like the Grach and the SR2M leave a lot to be desired. I am not saying that equates to clear foul play anywhere, but it certainly doesn't help their overall image.

Regardless, I hope both sides can resolve their differences without it going to court and find resolution.

FFS. I'd say the truth is probably somewhere between the two as to me there's parts of both statements which don't pass the sniff test.
