how to prevent leaky mags?

how do i prevent leaky mags on my kwa m93r because i have had a few leaky mags in the past and i don't want it again i have heard that leaving the mags with gas in helps this but that doesn't sound too good to me what to do prevent leaky mags help??

first thing is yes leave some gas in the mags to stop the o rings drying out or distorting,now and then remove the inlet,outlet and hammer valve and put some silicone grease on them as it expands the seals a bit making a better seal

You're meant to leave gas in them, it keeps pressure on the seals so they don't slip out of place. It also stops them from drying out because as long as there's gas in the mags, there'll be silicone oil in there too.

This is assuming that you are using green gas which will contain hfcs or propane mixed with silicon oil. If you are using straight propane then you will need to occasionaly add lubricate the seals with silcon oil which you can pick up for about £5.

Another option is to strip down your mags (make sure there is no gas in to start with) and use teflon tape under the rubber seals to pack them out slightly and provide a tighter seal. There are plenty of vidoes on youtube showing you how to strip a mag, lubricate the seals etc.

One last thing...if you are discharging the gas from your mags, don't hold the dump valve down and let the gas out in one long burst as this can freeze the seals and cause them to crack...which means buying new seals.
