Did you check you had matching blood types before hand? You also need to make sure your character is fed enough and given enough drink to bring them up to a healthy status, then you regenerate blood far quicker.

It wasn't even my choice of a transfusion, some guys decided they would shoot me unless I helped them. When they took my blood and gave it to their friend, he died, so they got annoyed and killed me.

I'll get in on this once I get it re-installed. Couldn't run it on my old laptop so haven't had a chance to play it yet, and noone I know really plays it, so it'd be good to have some people to play with (When I'm not playing CS:GO or Shogun 2, anyway).

I played some DayZ clone on Xbox (Named ApocZ) with a friend for a bit, so I guess that gives me a tiny bit of zombie survival experience. Can't be too bad in a group, right? Although some stories I've read of people's experience with groups of dudes going around cuffing them and forcefeeding them bleach sounds...brutal. Maybe we could do that kind of outlandish crap?

The kill on sight bandits are currently ruining the game, hoping they will eventually bug out and go play COD as they have no imagination for the game.... I'd rather be held up, handcuffed and force fed poison than be shot with no warning by a prick with a sniper and no microphone (or no warning). I play as a survivalist but will not kill on sight unless I believe them to have tried shooting me previously.

That's a good way to play. I had a little session earlier and I got into the habit of tracking people and following them for ages to see if they slip up by themselves so I can swoop in and scavenge what they drop. Works well-ish, doesn't work so well when they log out (Especially annoying when they logout just before they die).

When I used to play, if in the rare event I saw someone, I'd make them see me first and see how they react to me trying to talk to them. Usually idiots who shoot you on sight, so they get shot back. Its especially frustrating when all you want to do is help them!

Arma 3 Epoch is far far better than DayZ currently. (both are in development)

Yer dayz is pretty poor and the development is pretty slow and hasnt got very far even tho its been available for quite a while.

Best version to play currently is still overpoch for Arma 2 DayZ mod. It has all the base building and missions from Epoch with all the additional weapons from overwatch.

I never got on with the UI for Arma 2, Arma 3 is a far nicer UI and on Arma 3 Epoch they have made it nicer still

Use DayZ Commander as it lets you download all the necessary files through it, the servers have grey text in the server browser if your version doesn't match theirs.

still cant get the damn thing to work, its always saying im missing files and i have downloaded a load of add ons but still cant make it into a game

It could be that the Server you are trying to join is using expansion add-ons which you have either not purchased, or maybe have purchased, but not currently got installed. For example there are some ARMA British operations expansion add-ons, and elements from these, or other expansions might feature on the Server you wish to join. Since people can create their own missions and scenarios in ARMA, it may be that someone has created a mission for their server which uses some of these add-ons, which would mean that if you did not have those bits and pieces on your machine, the server would not load you in and would report that you have not got the necessary files, it could be something as simple as a truck from one of the expansion add-ons, or even an entire map. You may find that the server info lists the add-ons and downloads necessary to play on that server. This is why when I used to create missions for ARMA (and Operation Flashpoint before it) I used to stick to the default stuff!
