Sounds a bit like what happened with Rivus Fleet, or Babcocks. Can’t remember now he kept the Met servicing contract.

Carillion were a construction and facilities management company, not security / guarding

When they collapsed they were part of consortium a providing a number of government contracts, including infrastructure facilities management on the defence estates (less the training estate) 

Their success in securing all contract regions plus national housing was their failure, they bit off too much by underbidding every contract to the tiniest margin and then not being able to sustain all of them - when they failed it wasn’t the civil service suddenly getting things done quickly, but it was the consortium partner Amey (and other partners in PFI contracts) that stood up underwriting the Carillion gap

Guarding isn’t / wasn’t part of the FM contracts - parts of the admin such as a clerk handing out car passes is part of the FM in some sites.

….. and as a direct result of the Carillion situation, both as a consideration of the risk when the CarillionAmey consortium were successful in all tenders and on the subsequent impact of their collapse, the next round of regional infrastructure tenders included provision that a national award of so many regions could not take place

Then I would say that we are talking in cross purposes on the term ‘guarding’ and ‘sensitive sites’

I would guess that you were not under a Defence contract, and I’m unaware of what I would consider sensitive sites that don’t use the other guarding arrangements 

(Genuinely interested if you’d be willing to PM what sort of place this was / type of contract)

Take it up with the site, I doubt you will get a reply.  After that, I would go to the Small Claims Court.  Talk to Citizens Advice about it, no offense but an Airsoft Forum really isn't the best place to be asking legal advice even with the tentative connection

As they have gone into administration, you would have to contact the administrator.  However, you have very little chance of getting your money back.

I could easily be wrong but any secured or bank loans etc would get paid out first and anything left is likely to go to landlords, council then any other creditors, it's unlikely you'll get your money back but small claims is your best bet but only if you have a receipt.

Oof, I'm very sorry to hear that.  What @Tackle said, contact whoever you used to make the payment and ask them to do a chargeback. Don't go into details, just "I paid £400, the event was cancelled, the vendor isn't responding". You've nothing to lose by trying.  Best of luck.

That really sucks. It's definitely worth trying a charge back through your bank though from having a close friend who worked in liquidation of businesses that went into administration, I would advise managing your expectations to prepare for the worst. Depending on the nature of Bunker 51's debts, there are several different types of creditor who are prioritised in being repaid. Customers seldom come on the radar with the liquidation process.

If the bank can't help with the charge back, you may need to resort to a Small Claims court while Bunker 51 is still being liquidated as you're considered a customer and not a creditor.
