Brand new TM saiga 12k problems

Hello,
I have just picked up a TM saiga 12k from patrol base.
I have found that the cut off on empty has stopped working on the magazines when the dry fire switch is off. (which I am assuming is the small switch on the top when flicked it removed the blocker bar from in front of the knocker valve).
It also sometimes stops half way through a magazine when I have filled it up.
I have purged the magazines but the problem persists.
I use green gas and 45 round magazines.
Am I missing something?
Is the dry fire switch the one on the top next to the gas router?
Thought I would ask on here to see if there is an easy fix before I go through the motions of a return.

If it were me, I would probably return. Spending that much on a RIF, it had better be working perfectly out of the box. If it was a £120 GBB Pistol, meh, I'll try to fix but anything over £200-300, then any tiny issue, I am not going to be happy with.

Is it the same with different mags?

Patrol Base is notorious for sending out return items; not saying that's what's happened here, but it's happened. Alot of cases where people got sent clearly used/return items from them. Read a comment once that said they returned an item to Patrol Base, and they sent the exact same gun back to them as a replacement.

Hopefully you can either find a fix or get a replacement. The Saiga 12 is a RIF I have always wanted, but it's a bit pricey for me atm. Really fits into the S.T.A.L.K.E.R game vibe for me lol

Yeah I think a return is in order.
The gas not being consistent only happens with one mag. I purged it and it seems to have improved but the stop on empty is failing with every mag.

I always think to myself:

“Will I regret choosing not to return it in a month if I don't manage to fix it?”

It could be something very simple with the Saiga, or it could just be a normal quirk of the platform. I'm not sure, as I (begrudgingly) don't actually own one! But it should never need any parts or fixes to work properly out of the box.

If you're still within the return window, I'd message them and see if you can get a replacement. If the same thing happens with a different one, then maybe it's just a quirk of the platform. They might also suggest some things for you to try before returning it. At least if they specifically tell you to do something, you know you're not going to accidentally compromise your return rights by following their advice.

It definitely sucks to have to send it back, especially when you've only just bought it, but for £ 500-odd quid, I'd want that thing working perfectly!

I agree with both the above.

If they do give advice on how to fix it yourself make sure you get it written down along with a guarantee that any attempted work following their instructions won't invalidate the warranty if it doesn't work.
