Saiga 12 - What Does This Button Do?

Does this button do anything?
And if not, can it be removed - it rubs right on my finger.

I’d pop that open and have a look
I’ve never held a Saiga, but I’d guess that is where a firing mechanism component pops through the folded receiver to secure that part.
You could maybe trim it down a little to stop it protruding as much, but I wouldn’t completely remove it

Can't be a self destruct button its not red!

A self destruct button would be more fun, but it is the BHO on the real steel Saiga 12.

It's a safety switch, stops your arse falling off mid game, top tip... don't touch it.
