Above 35% ABV any drink will necrotize your taste buds. Scotch is watered down to 40% from about 70%. Give the taste a chance and take a bottle of soda water or decent mineral water. The taste will come alive. If you take a hipflask, try diluting the scotch with ginger wine.
One of the reasons that I love filmsim weekends is the camping. I'm always last to bed and really enjoy the lone fireside with a drink and a decent book. I finished Feargal Keane's Blood Season one memorable night at Eversley, playing Nico's Marble Index. Finished book and album on her version of The End. One of my genuine all time favourite memories.
