Hello,
I have just bought the quake 8.
After oiling it and testing it out, the grenade seems to chain fire 50% of the time I throw it.
One throw set off 3 of the 7 primers. (gentle under arm throw).
Obviously its very new and tolerances will possibly be breaking in.
Did anyone else have this issue with their quake 8 when they first got it? (I am using fiocchi 616 primers)
Is it a breaking in period or is there something wrong with my grenade and primers?
Thanks

@Lyndication I have heard that the flame in the base cap can transfer to the other primers and go off. Have you ever experienced this?

I've never heard of sympathetic detonations from flame travel within the base cap, nor have I experienced chain firings with my Quake 8.

I've seen the opposite problem like many have reported with the plunger not pushing the firing pin down on impact with a hard surface.

I have had problems with the Fiocchi 616 primers as they tend to get stuck in my Quake 8 until I prise or push the detonated ones out of the chamber. The Cheddite/Clerinox primers fit slightly more loosely that they drop out of the chamber when I tip it over, as I want them to.

@Galvatron just talked to the retailer. He told me that 616 are the more powerful ones and that they have stronger back pressure resulting in chain firing. He advised 615 which are less powerful.
