Hi.
A little background first. Purchased an ASG Mk23 Socom pistol form my son before Christmas as an into into Airsoft. He'd used it a hand-full of times at Phoenix Airsoft in Notts where him and his mate were well looked after and made to feel very welcome and part of it all. During on skirmish, he lost the mag. I purchased another mag but found that the pistol was firing one or two BB's and than blank firing. After a little investigation and messing, we find that slightly pulling the orange painted slider, would clear the jam/reload and it would fire on or two more rounds.
I've approached the retailer we used with a similar story as that above, and even a video of the fault. The retailled claim that as this is not a 'blowback' pistol that the act of pulling the slider pack would cause damage ?
I mentioned that the slider would have had to have been pulled back and removed in order for them to orange paint it. The replay was that sliding / remove once was OK, yet repeated sliding would cause damage. The 'slider' is spring loaded, and looks to me that is designed to slide in order to either cock, or clear any jams in the mechanism inside (why would the manufacturer install a feature thjat if used would cause damage?)
The retailer has offered to 'investigate' but if any damage is would then I would be charged - kind of understandable but the fact is that the pistol worked fine with the first mag, and jammed with the replacement.
Help..
Where do I go from here ??
Thanks for your time.
