Hi, I have a CYMA CM.002 and a few high caps.

When I put the magazine in, this little thing doesn't get pushed back enough and the magazine doesn't feed

it works with one magazine and doesn't work with the other, I guess it's the shape of the thing that's getting pushed back. The only workaround I found is to put a little rock or something there, so it stays open, but then when I pull it out of the gun, the BBs will fly out, so that's not a good fix.

What can I do about this? Thank you.

Mags aren't being inserted in far enough. If you glue a small piece of something onto the top of the mag catch it should be enough. Alternatively if the mag well is loose you can glue something into the back of the mag well to push the mag forward enough to open the tab enough.

Thanks for the answer, however, I don't think that's the problem. If this was the problem, it would feed a BB in when I push it in hard

Check out this dent that was made by the magazine being pushed in

What hi caps are they? Are you winding them all fully, before inserting them?

My brain is telling me that’s not supposed to move.

Can you take a photo of the magwell so we can see the hop unit?

Actually, I think this is one for @Sitting Duck..

One came with the m4, it works fine

the second one looks exactly the same, but stopped working after some time

the third one is an electric magazine, that looks like this

It should move that is the bb release catch.

To the OP it will be one of a few things either the mag itself, the hop up feed tube, or the mag catch is screwed.

Other thing is some brands of mags just do not work with some brands of gun.

Difficult to tell which it is without having the actual gun to look at.

I actually knew that. Honest.?

I read his Message and didn’t read the bit about putting the stone in, and then when he removed the mag he BBs came out.. I meant it’s not supposed to move when you pull the mag out.?

OP- If you load the mag and push it up and forward does it feed Ok?

All I’m going to say is, Eurovision is on, I’m a few bevvies in and am not paying 100% attention!

Nope, it doesn't, it only feeds with the rock :D

That step on the BB retention clip is the problem.

As it gets pushed onto the feed tube it's going to catch at that point and not push in fully. All you will be doing as you drive the mag up is push the retention clip down into the BB's.

You could try to file out the step, But personally with the price of high caps been so cheap I wouldn't bother. I'd just order some new mags and be done with the issue.

AK2m4 have a mag I would be happy with, the ZCI flash mag.

Can you move that slider with your finger easy enough to allow the BBs out of the tube? The clip that holds the BBs in may be a touch long, or could be catching on its sliders.

Yes, I can move it pretty easy to release the BBs

It probably is too long or just a bad shape. You can see where it stops here:

My question is more about what can I do to fix it, rather than identifying the problem :D

Thanks, I will try to file it and maybe make it a bit shorter.

It's an electric mag, so it wasn't that cheap :D  I will probably switch to a flash mag or mid caps soon

I already posted you can try to file out the step. But for the price of mags there is little or no point in doing so because M4 mags are cheap as chips.

The other option is steal a BB catch off another mag if it fits.

Lol Precision file is only as good as the idiot in charge :D

Seriously if it's out of the mag you could do it with a sheet of wet and dry 400 grit on a smooth surface. You only want to be facing it, not grinding it all to fuck. You have to be willing to strip the mag tho, Plastic swarf in a mag will cause all sorts of problems.

Well yeah, but your not going to get an 1” wide file in there are you!  So it’ll have to be a precision file.. or some wet and dry as you say.

Can't you build it up with some JB weld and make it smooth?
