i got a pair of new mesh for £4 + p&p
here they are being tested.
I've been using the same pair of these for over 3 years now, they're perfectly fine. Comfortable and good at what they do, I still have perfect 20 20 vision, never had paint chips hit me from them before. No terrible dents or marks, in fact there's barely even a mark on them. Main issue was that the strap stitching tore, so I had to knot it at one side, but they still stay on and they're still adjustable, so it's not an issue.
I did once get shot by a 500fps VSR10 sniper right in the eye from about 20m away and the BB shattered through, but the parts weren't going fast enough to do damage, it was just like getting sand thrown in your face. Which granted isn't a good thing, but that would happen with ANY mesh, not just these. Also, the guy shouldn't have been using his sniper that close and especially shouldn't have been aiming at my face. If it'd been an AEG then the goggles would've shrugged it off as if nothing had hit me.
Those tiny dents aren't going to cause it to be any less protective and if you think about it, even if you're getting shot at by a 500fps sniper, the velocity will have reduced massively by the time it's travelled the distance it needs to get to you, so by the time you get hit by any bb it's probably rarely travelling faster than that pistol could put out anyway.
You can get something else if you want, but I'm more than happy with these for UK limits and the price is great, if I was in the US or the Philippines or something, where people can have 500fps full autos, THEN I'd probably get some real steel ballistic goggles or something.
But for airsoft use, these can take 500fps single shots perfectly fine and I very rarely get hit around the eyes anyway.
I trust them to bear the brunt of everything flung my way.
