WeeMo, the pistol very much looks like a CYMA/ASG Glock18C AEP, but without having a look inside or at the pistol grip it looks like it is missing the mag, charger and battery. if you hold the gun in your hand as if you were going to fire it place your thumb on the back of the slide, there should be a button which you press and the whole slide lifts off, look for a plastic flap about 1/3rd of the way down towards the barrel from your thumb and the battery should pop out if its there, if there is a space under the barrel then you are definitely missing the battery. The mag should be in the front 1/3rd of the hand guard about a cm in depth and 1.5 cm wide then the length of the handguard. To get it out press the catch immediately under the trigger guard. That will help you answer some questions.

Simples, they have messed up, big time, they need a scape goat and as you are the public face of their (probably) soon to be demise you have that big red bull's-eye on your back. I see nothing wrong with what you did, if they had performed even one of the supposed checks they should have done to verify "Sarah Bartlett" it would have been flagged and "she" wouldn't have gotten the defence "she" was offered. Applying for a defence is not illegal, giving someone a defence that has no legal basis is very worrying indeed. You are in the right they are in the wrong, and good job you did it too! Well done! No it is not wrong for the police to pretend to be children or paedophiles in order to catch paedophiles. As has already been said it wouldn't take much for a journalist to have done the very same and put the results in the paper.

I would say not many, the tins look like something too fiddly to replicate. How about using old cigarette tins, or the new ones that are used as survival kit containers. Although they are small. Alternatively how about either look down your local shops biscuit isle for something the right size and shape, or a metal lunch box. for some reason I can't paste links or images any more since the upgrade but.... google Sigg aluminium box (breakingfree.co.uk have them for £17.50) the anodising might be a pain as they are bright colours. Tresspass boxed large aluminium lunch box £10 ish and again brightly coloured but a good size and shape. Old school metal lunchboxes, they can be found without paint so you wouldn't have to feel too bad about painting an antique.

One of the larger airsoft retailers in the UK, if you are in Southampton you can pop into their warehouse and pick up. They are the same company that brings us GroundZero and the GZ national airsoft event (the august bank holiday weekend) 1600 ish players. I bought 10 bags of their .25 bbs but I've not been too impressed with the quality control. They do sell lots of other stuff I managed to get an ICS M4A1 for a very reasonable price at the NAE last year. Some have complained about their customer service from time to time, I can't comment as they have always been fair to me, and their forum ZeroIn has a bit of a reputation.

Take care with using SpecialAirsoftSupplies, he has a reputation on here, simply search the numerous threads about his customer service and the number of people who actually had to call on him at his house with some mates to get their money back.

Some of the guys on my team went to one of their milsims at the Sandpit, they loved it but as it was pretty hardcore milsim they humped up and down cardiac hill 3 times in about 6 hours, the other team had to assault to the top of it. I've seen it and I wouldn't want to walk up it unless I absolutely had to. Let alone in full kit and a gun. But they did do a boat insertion for the other team on the other side of the lake. They seemed to be the ones doing helicopter insertions. Overall I'd say they know what they are doing and they cater to a very specific audience of fairly hardcore milsimers. As for teamwork this weekend was a classic. My team Reds were holding one side of a building on the ramp at the sandpit, the Blues were in the generator building with a single doorway to fire out of, they were keeping us pretty well pinned down as it was impossible to see into the building. Another team of REDS were working their way around the side of the building in what we thought was a blind spot for them to get into position retake the generator building. They moved without supressing fire because they didn't explain what they were intending, 3 of 6 were hit and realised how exposed they were the other 3 retreated. I was the only red in cover with the range to supress the door, I explained what I was intending, they could medic the first three then move forwards while I provided supressing fire through the door. I emptied 3 190rnd mid caps and a 450rnd high cap. Obvious result when they didn't move forward and their mates had to walk back to regen. We then had to mount a whole new assault and actually ended up loosing a significant amount of ground. I don't like the lone wolfing in airsoft personally, unless that is the style of play for that position in the real world, ie a sniper/sniper team who would move off to a position where they could call in intel. As it happens that worked brilliantly for the final push in the afternoon where myself and another member of the team setup an overwatch position on a ridge where we could observe the movements of the blues and guide the rest of our team through the mounds of rubble without too many casualties on our side. That gave me a massive amount of satisfaction knowing we had worked as a team to help achieve the reds final objective.

I did a day with a guy that is serving SAS (he said) and one of the Stirling instructors who claimed to be Ex UKSF, I don't doubt their skills its just hard to find evidence to back up such claims by the very nature of their job. Doing CQB training, it was great fun, I learned a lot but... it hasn't been all that useful because many of the guys I encounter at sites don't know the same stuff so I haven't been able to use the skills as part of a team since. I would love to give the sniper training a go but I shall probably not use them as I will shortly be moving to Norwich and Gunman have their own training type events from successful airsoft snipers, not as good as real steel if that's what you are wanting but actually their skills are more relevant in my eyes.

Whats the best way to stop your goggles from Fogging?
NickM replied to MrCheesman94's topic in General Discussion
Have had a little thinking about the glasses business and bbs getting under them, twice in 3 years I've ended up with BB's rolling around in my safety glasses when I used them. I'm thinking wire mesh goggles is my next move. Just need to find a reputable source. -

NickM replied to MrCheesman94's topic in General Discussion
Well Ian someone certainly had their weetabix this morning. As for the glasses simply read the article that turned up in Airsoft Action this month (MAY 2014 issue) page 71, "READ AND TAKE NOTE" if you haven't seen it or can't then the main thrust of the article describes a player from the Shadow Stalkers who was shot with an AEG from 15 to 20ft away, a round hit the rim of his mask and ricocheted up under his glasses hitting the underside of his eye and then eyebrow, his eyebrow was bruised by the impact. The impact to the eye caused a bleed into his vitreous humour (liquid filling they eye) and damage to his retina, this led to being completely blind in that eye almost instantly. With proper medical care (luckily his nearest hospital had a specialist eye casualty unit, he is regaining sight but it has taken over a year and he cannot do any physical activity at the moment because he may detach the retina. He will require yearly eye tests as there is now an increased risk of eye damage. Moral for me, I will probably invest in some better eye pro, I have a set of ESS V12 goggles but they fog badly on me, my main set are cheap goggles from Hong Kong and realistically I'm now not convinced they are up to the job. -
I got the xplodes from Socom Tactical, never again, burn times were unreliable at best.

Do you need ukara/ a defence? NOPE, you must be +18 to buy, and most sites will require you to be +18 to use them. Can you buy them sites? Yeah, some sites do good deals on them, many don't. Can you buy elsewhere? Yeah, its possible, you often get better deals this way. But beware, postage will be quite high they are explosives so there are restrictions on who will carry them, also some sites have silly rules like you must only use their pyro or a specific brand of pyro on their site, for the most part I cant find a real reason for this other than a money making scheme on their part. You get what you pay for, so better quality is good, I generally buy about 10 flashbangs and 5 smokes at a time, but I've had varying results from different companies. One set called Xplode had a 50% failure rate. TLSFX and Enola gaye have better reputations, in my eyes there is a reason for this, less than a 5% failure rate on these. I class inconsistent burn times as failures ie just the same as one that fails to detonate.

Operation Skylight - Hertfordshire Location - Okto Eight Milsim
NickM replied to Baz JJ's topic in Okto Eight Milsim
Just an idea Baz, and something I have suggested in the past when we've had discussions about these types of games on here. Instead of marshals in Film/Milsims wearing high viz why not kit out in light blue. Marshals = UN inspectors sent in to trouble spots to observe, you could even write it into the scenarios, one of them could be an MI5/6 or CIA type asset that can take part in some games maybe change the colour of their headgear/ whip off the blue helmet cover when they go overt. It is just as obvious as high viz in the woods and both of your teams will be in distinct camo. -
Urm, Serial 40 at Lydd run by both Elite Action Games and Elite Battle Zone (1hr20mins from Eastbourne) EAG Worthing (just over an hour from EB) EAG Gatwick (just over an hour from EB) EAG Dorking (1hr30mins from EB) EAG Epsom Bunker ( London side of M25, 1hr30mins from EB) Ultimate Wargames Limpsfield (Surry but on a rail line from the south coast into london, get off at oxted). Zed Airsofts Battle lakes (about an hour from EB) Or... further to the west, Sussex airsoft, and South downs airsoft. Take your pick. As for the OP, an exnightclub sounds great, put in a sound system and some interesting lighting effects and it could be brilliant. Good luck to you, if I lived closer I would definitely be there. You might want to email the major airsoft mags, they have a directory of sites in the back with details of locations etc, the guys at airsoft action made a correction i pointed out within the month so turn around is quick.

I'll be there with the team, we always play Delta. Its currently a 2 hour drive from where I am but I'm probably moving before then which will make it closer to 4hrs each way. Its worth it!!!! Just walking round the campsite with a beer catching up with other teams is a giggle.
-
Don't EAG of Holmbush (IE EAG Gatwick fame) use it last weekend? I know Wolfie (one of the marshals at EAG Worthing) was there this weekend? Edit: trying to post a link to their page RE Serial 40 but for some reason it wont paste. Google Elite Action Games and it should come up. Oh and was having a chat with a mate of a mate who is an army MP apparently Serial 40 is one of the places they use to train up new MP's and its really good.

The correct setup shouldn't have an issue with pressure dropping, but I'll test it and let you know. This one can use HPA, 88g CO2 or 12g CO2 so very large cylinders are possible which reduces the issue. -

At some point I hope to rock my new Bar10 at GZ, have installed a CO2 cylinder which should make it a beast, I may put the short barrel with Rhop back in! Also going to pick up a few more high caps/flash mags in time for the weekender, realism is definitely not the order of the day. -

DELTA DELTA DELTA, sorry it's my teams token german that likes to start that off in the camp site on friday evening. Unfortunately we met up with some hungarian guys who kept offering us "the queens spirit" which helped to lubricate these chanting sessions. -

The Air Cav are one of two of my regular sites teams I'm in the Mental Militia ( the anti team) they are probably one of the VN platoons you saw, they held heartbreak ridge all of Saturday. They basically spent the day posing in the foxholes with their VN soundtrack playing on mini speakers in the trees. Was a weird sight coming up heartbreak and seeing them smoking and listening to tunes. They are the ones in the VN style canvas tent and the huge sound system. Other loadouts seen on previous years have been: Girl in French maids outfit Man in lime green mankini (borat style) Group of suited and booted hitmen. Gimp outfit/BDSM kit was the weirdest though. -

Good old DPM works well coz its designed for temperate forest and its temperate forest mostly so actually one of the more appropriate camo choices. Unlike the delta guys that turned up in Black suits, white shirts and red ties, aka hitman. There is no camo limit its just turn up and play in whatever you feel like. I didn't think Delta was geardo's, I was on Delta last year with my team and we are kind of the anti team, random collection of kit etc. I got the impression that a lot of Bravo were into their kit. Seems like everyone had it in for Delta, there were times last year when it seemed like Bravo and the Others had come to some kind of agreement to team up on delta. I'll be on delta again this year. -
Whats the best way to stop your goggles from Fogging?
NickM replied to MrCheesman94's topic in General Discussion
Sorry I wasn't thinking drilled you're right the refraction and diffusion from the drilled surfaces would be really bad but maybe a purpose made moulded set with rows of holes. I was mostly thinking out loud as I have neither the time or ability to make anything like this, maybe in the hopes of someone who has the tech to make it work might give it a go and test it. -

Well the main problem with mesh is that it seriously cuts down the light entering your eyes, it also means that most of the light enters from directly infront of your eyes in fairly parallel rays with big gaps that your brain will need to fill in for you. This may cause your eyes to fatigue quicker than without them. Letting more light through will mean you will have more light for the rods and cones to deal with. Your brain is pretty good at filtering bits and filling in the gaps elsewhere so any additional light may help even if it is just vague shapes. It could be worth investigating although the holes might cause the polycarbonate to be weak or may cause too much distortion to be useful. The alternative could be a way of putting the goggles together so there is more air flow, or perhaps even two layers, a warm inner layer close to your skin and a cold outer layer with an air gap, this may reduce the likelihood of condensation occurring.
