  1. thanks for replies everyone, thats helpful.

regarding recoil as per the vfc vs marui.. im guessing the vfc packs more recoil, im guessing this is a technical question, but could someone replace the 300gram weight in the ngrs to improve felt recoil?

in terms of longevity and holding price, which one is the better longterm option?

    Thanks again.

  2. looking to buy this as a gift for my brother but unsure of a few things, hoping i can get some answers here to help me make an informed decision.

    a) if you was to receive one of these two airsoft guns as a gift for use in cqb games, which would you go for and why?

    b) does anyone recommend a place to buy one of these two guns, i presume you need rif license for the vfc, is this the same for the tm ngrs?

    regards all!

  3. does anyone have experience with quality folding stock adapters?

im looking to get another one as the first one i bought is a ton of crap.

looking to spend the money but wanted to enquire this time before i pull the trigger and spend £££

    - ideally lockable in folded position aswell,

    - rock solid and zero wobble

    Thanks all.

I currently use a Surefire m900. It's a bit of a lump but exactly what you're describing. Pressure switches on either side of the foregripfor mometary activation, and a thumb button for a pair of small nav lights forw moving around dark areas without giving your position away so much.

No doubt you can get chinesium copies that work OK.

Looks nice, bit of a beast. im thinking rather than a dedicated unit, id be better to go for a general use, smallish surefure handheld torch and mount it to my system so as and when i need a torch i can take it off, plus its the cheaper option.

i do like that m900 unit though, just not for what i think i need. it bugs me that i wouldnt be able to mount the light higher up on the weapon as i like to rest the weapon in certain situations aswell.

any ideas on how many lumens or candle is too much for indoor / cqb?

no point going too hot, but would be nice to get something bright enough to blind someone a little :)

@Rogerborg - Going a bit off-topic but in theory could a private individual two tone one of their RIF's if selling to someone without a defence?

Thank you, this is the spirit of the topic...

So many Karen's out there just assume that I'm trying to pull a fast one. We definitely live in an era where you are guilty until proven innocent.

So if a gun is a licensed replica, is that the same as a non licensed replica when it comes to ukara

These are just toys after all. Before someone jumps down my throat there's nothing stopping someone painting the slide on a real firearm to make it look like an imitation.

All I'm doing is trying to make sense of the situation here as I am completely new to Airsoft.

My local post office staff always suggest ticking the gift/other box when sending stuff abroad whenever I have gone in there.

Just saying.. I don't want to ruffle anymore feathers here than I have already with my initial questions lol

I am curious to know more about the ukara with regards to have received a rif as a gift from someone, what are the grounds in this circumstance?

    Regards all.

So not only are you trying to import without an easily provable valid defense, but you also want to commit Customs fraud? That wouldn't look great on the sport of Airsoft does it?

A valid UKARA needs to be written on the box of anything you import so that if customs find it in a random search, you can get it released easily. If you cant prove a valid defense the rifle can be destroyed and you in hot water legally. (Possible fine or sentence.)

UKARA is the one provable method of a defense that Border Force recognise and has a form of access to.

Read what happened to me and I was lucky enough to have a UKARA number on the box and could insist on them checking it as proof of my defense.

    great answers from everyone thankyou!

That clears up everything i wanted to know, i'm very pleased i didnt go ahead and place an order based on the responses here.

i never said i was going out of my way to committ fraud more so avoid it, as the comments have suggested if anyone is going to committ fraud its more likley on the side of the supplier, not the person reciving the parcel. on the topic of UKARA its a simple one, if you want a replica without the license then just buy secondhand - dont vent on me, vent on the gov for ridiculous legislation.

  8. any advice for a first timer ordering from asia?

i dont quite understand how over here in the uk you need to hand out your license to buy replias.. is this not the same when importing from asia then?

are there any stores to stay away from?

has anyone purchased from https://www.proactstore.com before?

when it comes to customs and vat, is it not possible to have them write on the box "returns for repair" or something to avoid the additional cost?

    Regards all.

  9. ok, so vfc are useless when it comes to spare parts, thats good to know as i would never want to be in that situation..

i would really like the steel stamped mp5 but as vfc arent great for spares does anyone have any input on the Swit MP5 A3 offering?

maybe someone has seen a guy using in in field and has an opinion?

i will take a look at the weapons suggested in thbe comments thus far, thanks alot for your time and knowledge all.

  10. Hi all,

ive read up a bit on the forum, alot of players unimpressed with vfc however i already bought a glock 17 gen 5 which i find is quite fun and i am generally impressed with it, however i am yet to play a game of airsoft!..

i wont be buying anything else until i go for my first game, however i wanted to ask which gbb rifles are a good choice when budget isn't so much limited?

i have a holosun red dot sitting here crying to go one something worth while, maybe an mp5 or something small enough to fit into a back pack..

ideally i am looking for realism and decent range / repeatable accuracy..

Im sure i am missing lots of information here but very open to constructive advice.

    Regards all.

    Andrew.
