Now that is some quality advice if I've ever seen any hahah. Thank you for the help. It's just an aftermarket CNC slide that claims to be designed for WE Glocks but the company assured me it could fit TM with slight modification. The internals I have put in the slide are completely TM / designed for TM. By 'sanding' I really just meant I cycled it manually for a while to wear away any small differences in tolerances, between the slide and frame only, which has made a remarkable difference with apparently minimal wear. Of course it's a bit of a franken-pistol at the moment so I accept it's a bit of a stupid problem to have. The nozzle feels no tighter in the BBU outside of the frame than it does inside, but this could be due to permanent deformation, I'm really not sure. It feels stiff to me but I'm not experienced in GBB so I could be overstating it. I have a broken We G34 (It was a gift I promise 😂) which I could cut down the recoil spring from (as I assume it's longer). I'll also buy a replacement spring for the BBU, thank you both. If that doesn't work I can look at a WE hammer; what is the advantage of this - is it to do with height alignment of the slide. All the parts it seems to interface with are TM but I won't pretend to know what I'm talking about. Thanks again for taking time to help a WE sympathiser

Hey, wondered if anyone could help me sort a few issue with my Glock 17. I bought it as a damaged product gun and have been trying to switch out parts and get it to function). The slide is a heavy CNC WE slide and the remaining externals are stock TM or TM compatible aftermarket. I've tried to sand the slide near the rails to slide smoothly, which it now mostly does however it sticks very slightly about 1.5cm back in the action. Again though, the remainder of travel is very smooth. The BBU is stock TM in the WE slide but the nozzle return spring is rather weak (I am not sure if it is stock), but even so the nozzle itself seems quite tight inside the BBU, regardless of how heavily I lube it and so doesn't retract fully when firing. The slide locks back when empty sometimes, but not always - especially not if the gas is running moderately low. Mags are TM and I use green gas. The main issue is that the pistol does not cycle a new bb when shooting. I bought the gun with a 150% recoil spring, and think potentially a lower power spring will help the slide return further and more consistently? I thought that perhaps the hammer spring wasn't strong enough but a 140% spring has made no difference. Do you think that my main issue is the nozzle return spring or do I need to look at purchasing an entire new BBU; if so do I go for WE or TM? I can try to sand the nozzle but I'm not sure where it is tight. Or is my issue more likely to be the strong return spring and heavy / sticking slide in which case I should buy a stock spring and polish more? There is also the issue that, with no mag in, if I rack the slide and release it unlocks itself and slides off the frame. Not exactly fantastic so would appreciate some ideas on why that happens, but it's not too much of a dealbreaker. Thanks for the help and sorry for my incompetence. I'd love to go ahead and replace everything but I am but a broke student lol ;(

Thanks for the replies; I do keep it in my gun bag and if I get caught with a RIF at a skrimish then I guess I kinda have a defence as I am actually at a skirmish. I was more looking for the legality of swapping out the handguard for a black one before going to a skirmish for the first time. (And just because I haven't gone to a skirmish doesn't mean that I am new to airsoft!) And even if you don't go to a skirmish can you use the fact that you play with around 7 friends on private land as a defense?

I know this was partially already covered but if my M4's solid stock was covered in camo tape and having removed the tape it left behind a rifle which is now 20% green, if I want to replace the stock with a crane stock (black) is that legal? Or does it count as manufacturing an RIF? I don't really have a defence as I play in my friends private land (few acres). Though in the near future I want to go to a skirmish. Thanks
