Axios Customs

I see them alot, spouted by "influences" and various places that need sponsoring, but very little in terms of actual reviews, other than "hi guys this is my Axios customs - insert long list of mods with 0 testing/demos".
Their prices to me, seem rather insane as well, i am GBBR user and not afraid of a screw driver, add in the knowledge base that is the Heavy Recoil Club and you really dont need anything more, certainly not £75 for hop work!. Having upgraded (not custom fit etc) just swapping parts on both AEG and GBBR, GBBR so far is wayyyyy easier and doesn't require what i shall that "little extra" that you might need with a AEG (especially an old one).

Anyone got one?
Is it worth it?
Is it aimed at people who have no idea how to upgrade a gun and/or cant be bothered, maybe more money then sense? (which to me seems insane as a GBBR user, they aren't as pickup and go as a AEG and need more maintenance)

Interested to hear any thoughts/opinions etc.

in that £75 you need to consider "live" costs of maintaining a business (rent, bills, equipment renewal/replacement etc..) plus something for the business owner/tech to afford gas, groceries and such.
As always, if you have the skillset and tools to do your own teching, you should definitely do your own teching.. If not, then that's what shops/techs are there for.

That's not really true in my experience. The vast majority of GBBR's I've used (VFC, TM, KWA, WE, AA, hell even S&T) have not needed anything doing aside from the occasional NPAS, simply gas the mags and dial the hop and you're good to go.

Mainteance wise both are pretty much on par, bit of grease and lube and you're done I'd rather pop off an upper receiver and grease a hammer than undo a gearbox and fight little springs and set the cogs to the perfect position

Id argue thats the exact reason they aren't.
you pick your AEG, you go chrono youre done. not having to worry about gas/temperature/cool down or npas (winter springs/light bolts etc)

really, you dont even have to open your AEG gearbox, its an enclosed system (for most part) and if treated well will last a long time plus if you go to a tech they dont expect you to open it at all, or you void any warranty they might give.


is that who their market is? How come theirs no reviews apart from influencers?
I understand business rates and running your own company i run my own side hussles, but i broke even (took a slight loss) until id built up reviews (network cabling), as far as i can see these guys only have influencers for reviews and none of them show actual performance, of course Negative airsoft you dont see people reviewing his builds etc, but his has a reputation and you can watch his builds/repairs on youtube no funny business, Surely you'd want to build your own google reviews rather than trust influencers?

It makes me wonder if they've purposely priced it all stupidly high to avoid having to do basic things and if somebody is foolish enough to pay the price then they have the effort to do it

its a fine line, they are running a business, which i get. But its always the small tasks that made me money when i was AEG teching, same with welding these days i make way more per day/technically per hour doing small 10-15min jobs at a good price vs massive ones, but maybe this is too hard to compare across fields?

But i just dont see the "special sauce" you might get with say an AEG tech, most stuff cant be modded in same way, like AOE engagement/shimming, their changes appear to be straight swaps.
If they were providing actual gun smithing services, maybe. But i dont see anything about polishing sears or trigger tuning, just drop in trigger boxes.

And in their heavy influencer marketing and 0 actual reviews and it makes the prices look really bad, but maybe im just seeing this from the wrong light? (again, someone that isn't scared of a screw driver with a mix of AEG,GBBR and real steel)

i liked the look of one of their 416 builds, but the question is "what am i REALLY getting?"

Playing devil's advocate, you pay wedding and sports photographers a small fortune not simply for taking photos, editing and distributing them, you're paying for their experience they've spent years building to know what works and what doesn't. Is it fundamentally different for teching an airsoft gun?

I do my own GBBR work but I had seen their work at Shift Your RIFTs on the OG Carbon stand and I spoke to both of the techs and a few people at SYR running their builds.

They don't just slap parts together. They do indeed have smithing services - their "Mona Lisa" build has a milled lower and upper. They do work on trigger tuning. Axios also invests its profits into its own research of parts compatibility, which hop units work best with which hop rubber and hop arm, etc along with the heaviest weight the combination will fire in a straight line to a given distance, etc.

There were also quite a few players with Axios builds up at Gaol earlier this year. None of them had complaints about their builds and they're not influencers. Are you using the word as a pejorative for anyone with social media presence?

I don't think there's a convenient box to put their client base into. As a GBBR user yourself, I would have thought you know it's once thing to grease your bolt carrier/trigger group or clean your inner barrel, it's a bit more work to fit an NPAS or swap out a nozzle from the bolt carrier. There are degrees of maintenance and technical work where some people are more comfortable than others in doing it.

Honestly, thats cool as hell. They probably need to work on their marketing as i dont recall anything about a "mona lisa" build or their own receivers on the website. It reads to me, like just swapping parts with some marketing fluff & links to lots of influences. Theirs certainly no R&D pictures, which is cool as hell for small businesses especially for airsoft (why i try to support BBA & Waldo when i can)

Im using "influencer" basically as anyone i see re-tagging them or their stories or posting the "this is my new axios custom build" but doesn't really go into details on the "custom" just some swapped parts and externals, but it sounds like they do go beyond that.
