I decided recently to get my VSR clone working again after the spring and sears decided to wear out. Went all out on upgrades. Cyma 701b.

Wolverine BOLT + WA cylinder + air saver kit
ML Crazy Jet barrel 428mm long
4UAD hop bucking
Tridos TDC kit
AA chamber
Storm cat5 regulator
Wolverine wraith X CO2 adapter

I've been trying to set the hop using 0.48g BLS bbs and maybe my expectations are too high. It certainly seems to be out ranging AEGs for a start but I can't seem to get quite a flat trajectory? It's either not enough or too much and the bbs start dropping again. Hard to say what distance I'm reaching out to. When using a tdc is there a rather small sweet spot?

Am I expecting too much from this setup? Or going too heavy? For reference it was at 300 fps on 0.48g, I know I've got another 20 fps to play with.

I would try swapping your bucking out to something like a maple lead autobot in a 70/75 flavour.
Reason being is a stiffer bucking will mean a more linear adjustment and with a 70/75 being a little stiffer won't grab as quickly meaning for the small adjustment you make, in essence you get less "efect" from your adjustment so between not enough and too much you may find that middle ground.

Agreed, try another bucking... I got on the 4UAD band wagon when the release videos were doing the rounds but I've had no luck with them (mind I'm talking about the AEG type) - try a few different buckings, group and range each one, find the one that works best with your combo.

Not trying to bash the 4UAD, I've got a mate who's using one and it's range and accuracy seemed good. I think possibly the ZCI hops or XT barrels I use just don't like that rubber.
