• Anyone got recommendations for a good single pouches for ak47/akm magazines? Find double stacks a little awkward

first game for the last 14 months.  proof that expensive doesnt=good

LCT G3A3 mags all feed only half a mag before being unreliable, sometimes feeding, sometimes not (on both 28s and 25s).  £300+ gun £23 mags...

raged onto my backup: CYMA AK74m flawless £100

first time outing for both of them.  the G3 fires like a beast stock, and hop does 0.28's well, its just the damn mags.  wonder if JG mags work?

It's not the springs. It's the mag inner sitting too far out of the feed tube allowing the bb retention nub to close. If you pull on the front bottom of the mag they will feed again as this pushes the nub back open. You need to shim your mag inners higher at the rear, and securely peg them in place.

I had to do the same thing with my LCT midcaps. And the review I wrote also mentions this and has the shimming solution. If that solution doesn't make sense just PM me, I had another guy asking about it a few months ago in PM's and I did him a more detailed explanation of the modification.

You need to inspect you mags first before you take them to bits.

The part I refer to as rollovers (blue) are the sides of the metal part of the mag where the mag comes up and over the feed nozzle. The goal is to get the top of the feed tube (purple) to be in line with the rollovers - as show by the magazine top line (red). See image.

In order to get the feed nozzle to be inline with those rollovers you are going to have to make a few modifications to both parts of the mag.

The plastic internal bit needs a chamfer (Angled edge) filing onto the leading edge of the magazine (orange second image).

The metal tang (green) needs bending out a little to allow the plastic parts to sit higher.

Once you have the feed nozzle in line with the magazine top line doing these actions you will then need to shim the plastic parts into place.

I made pegs/wedges. All they are is plastic that has been shaped to hold the plastic part of the magazine tight to the magazine top line. Those wedges are long enough that the magazine base plate holds them in and up. Stopping the feed tube falling away from the hop unit in the gun.

Much thanks for the extra detail.  Will likely have a crack one of these weekends.

As for your pegs, are they made from scratch or modded from something readily available?

anyone know where i can find an O-ring measuring 15mmODx1.8mmCS 70D

much thanks

What did you measure it with? Reason I ask is those measurements don't line up with metric standards. It's also not imperial standard (usually 1/64th's).

Imperial would be 1/16 x 19/32 (1.587mm x 15.081mm). But that gets factored back into metric for most sites and is sold as a 1.6mm x 15.1mm

You can find rings done to 1/128th's In that case it's closer to a 9/128 x 19/32 (1.78 x 15.081mm) sold as 1.8x15.1mm. Not common at all, but you can import them. I'd measure twice to be absolutely sure that is the dimensions you need.

leaky mag diagnosis.  what is wrong when a mag seems to leak loudly when shaken from the top firing valve?  Asking for a friend

Shamal
Shamal
Sounds like maybe the valve is not closing fully after being struck.

You can test by immersing in water when filled with gas and watching for bubbles. No harm will befall it just make sure its dried well after ?

i assume it supposed to be assisted by a spring?  if so, then i think raptor need to invest in stronger springs, as some of the others on the gun are very much underpowered

Shamal
Shamal
Yeah a weak spring but also assisted by internal gas pressure.

Does anyone find themselves also favouring guns in games that match those in your collection?  Counterpoint, did the games influence the purchase.  definately guilty of both here

Mines the other way round. whenever I buy a new gun and am waiting for it to arrive I tend to look for it in a game and play with it.

Have you had any custom work done like deans connectors? they took a week or so to change the connectors on my SCAR

no extra work.  i did get a call today to say one of the patches i ordered was out of stock and asking if i wanted to swap or refund.  i believe it should be dispatched today.

extremeairsoft.... following a gnu which has a 7 day lead time from whenever you look.... now thats not a 'buy it and we will order it in, delivery is 7 days'.  its flat out of stock with a continually moving restock date? or is the website system broken?

That's a buy it and we'll drop ship it.

Be careful, Extreme are really good if they have the item but if they don't or there is a courier problem then they're as much use as David Beckham on Mastermind.

fair, tis a shame, they have it £70 cheaper than patrol base... which have it in stock...

is evolution airsoft any good?  have a reasonably priced MK18...

Same guns as specna/saigo defense, just different coloured plastics (nozzle, delayer chip, hop chamber and tappet plate)

Speedbird_666
@kasaranIf you want a cheap Mk18, I'd go Specna Core. As @Skaramentions, it appears that Specna and Evolution use the same OEM, with the respective companies specifying their (minor) internal/external component choices to the factory. Comparing the two models on Patrolbase, the Specna comes out £50 cheaper.

I would use that £50 on an SHS/Rocket High Torque motor, ZCI inner barrel, ML Macaron/Omega Hop rubber/bucking. Job done, and spend nothing more until it breaks.

The newer Cores are also now coming with Gate X-ASR Mosfets as standard now, which is a nice update. And the Specnas are licensed with DD themselves.

dont, curve ball is the lct akms is back in stock in places.... damnit

Half looking at getting a MK18.  Not a great fan of the big CM logo on the G&G, does this come off? £500 TM NGRS is a little rich for me atm.

no idea, I don't look at stock performance anymore because my guns usually don't stay stock for more than 10 minutes after leaving the box :D

Stay away from orion gearboxes and you'll be fine :)

Friom gunfire's website, its an Orion inside ><

Yeah, the Edge range has the orion gearbox. If you get an Edge, try and get the newer Edge 2.0.

It has a Gate licenced flat trigger that is optimised for the Aster mosfet, and the new Flat hop up rubber.

Apparently Specna have sorted the issue with the weak gearboxes, but I'll be able to tell you first hand if that is the case after my E05 Edge 2.0 arrives soon.

The CORE C19 is still DD Licenced, but has the plastic body instead of metal.

The rail is still metal however.

building funds for a new PC build and someone puts an awfully tempting LCT akm on here... bastard

Don't bother with hardware. The future is in the cloud. You don't get AKM's in the cloud.

I find it amusing when in the classifieds people who are selling multiples of one item say '£X each or all 5 for £Z'  When the buy all price is exactly what the individual cost would be if multiplied by the number of items.  Why word it like its got a multibuy discount?

Haha.

Buy two for the price of two.

Yay winner!!

@alxndrhllthat is just to trick their wives/gfs into thinking they "want" to sell those items ;)

considering how simple they are. Why are M79's so expensive?

lucaslu1709
lucaslu1709
I'll agree that they are pretty overpriced (especially the handheld version), but there is a fair amount of metal used, and a nice wooden stock as well. The large metal barrel and barrel assembly are also likely fairly expensive to cast properly, but apart from that like someone said before, a lot of that cost is probably from Nuprol's bottom line ;)

I'm not sure simplicity = cheap, or even complex = quality. ICS MGL a good point to raise. Whilst its' been literally years since the first and last time I held an m79 (can't remember if it was KA or the old CAW version), it was a solid bit of kit and a "quality product". On the other hand, the ICS MGL (which I have) is well, half the price.. and for good reason. The complex bit is pretty decent, and does what its supposed to do. But evidently corners were cut elsewhere, it is incredibly plasticy, there is lots of flex to it and it seems pretty fragile, I wouldn't want to drop it, and I wouldn't want to transport it outside of a box. Not a fan of nuprol but IIRC m79s have always been fairly expensive

After almost a year I have finally sorted out the gear I want to run for my G3.  Now, what do do with the mag pouches I originally bought that were of no use to me.

They are OD, fit 2 mags in each and fully adjustable with velcro flap.  Got em to fit Stanag, G3 and M14 mags, not AK sadly.  Possible ad going up when the missus gets round to looking at the postage costs.

with the paypal, pay in 3 instalments.  can you put down a deposit/first payment to make the follow ups cheaper?

You can't spec a PC for ArmA 3.

Unless you work at NASA or something.

K
kasaran
@Skara oh, I still get arma'd but now, at least on not heavily modded maps i can have a decent view distance and frames.  I remember my machine before the last upgrade, the view distance was so low the UAV misson on campaign was to high to nothing rezed in on the ground.

I play mostly KoTH and until a year and a half ago I had 40 fps literally everywhere on my craptop, 1.5k view distance on anything, now though, the game doesn't even start and sends me to a nice BSOD which also fucks up steam library -.-

It seems, CROPAT is really hard to find for sale outside the US and for what I would consider a decent price for grear...

thats an idea, but likely beyond my abilities.  and i think thats what im remembering.  at least im not totally mad

clearly its been too long... I had an airsoft dream last night.  I was using my G3 (which I have yet to field) and it was the quietest and most accurate thing ever....  theres some aspirations to live up to when I do make my next skirmish.

Shamal

Haha. Well there are worse dreams you can have.bet you had some good kills with it though lol.
