Valuation help on old airsoft gear needed

Hi guys,

I haven't touched airsoft in years and I'm looking to get rid of all my old gear, but I've got absolutely no idea what any of it's worth these days. Would really appreciate some help before I list it!

Scorpion EVO ASG

• M4-length barrel + original short barrel
• ASG Metal hop-up upgrade
• ASG visual upgrade kit + metal trigger
• Stock mags x4 + gun case + original ASG Scorpion EVO case
• Safety currently only works on the left side — I think I messed up the little cog/spring when I took it apart years ago. Probably an easy fix but I don't have the time.
• 1x old LiPo battery (untested, probably dead)

Other than the safety, it always worked flawlessly.

Thompson Gun

• No idea on the make, don't think it's CYMA
• Stopped working after only a few uses, so I'd sell it as broken/for spares
• I vaguely remember paying around £200–£250 new

Scorpion EVO electric drum mag

• I'd sell separately
• I'd like between £60-£80 for it as thats what I paid but let me know if im being ridiculous here. I know this one can be adapted to other guns if that helps anyone identify the make.

Also have a chrono and LiPo charger which could either go with the Scorpion or be sold separately. I don't know why the Thompson barrel looks bent in the picture but i promise it isnt

Any idea what sort of prices I should be looking at for these? Just trying to get everything gone rather than have it sit around gathering dust.

General rule of thumb is 60% - 70% of retail.

For example the Evo (Assuming it's the BET version) and factoring in the selector issue, it would be 60% so £210

I've actually managed to find the invoice from 2022. Turns out it is CYMA lol.

CYMA CM051 / CM.051 M1928 Thompson Airsoft Rifle - (Chicago Typewriter) Full Metal Upper and Faux Wood

I paid £160 for it back then so I can't imagine it's worth much as broken now

Regarding the Tommy Gun Do you have more specific information on it having "stopped working"?

Does the gearbox sound like it cycles or do you think it's seized? Is the problem specifically with the gun or could there be a feeding problem with the drum mag?

The more problems you can rule out, the more leverage you hold in trying to resell as spares/repairs.

So it actually isnt the BET version but that was the idea to make it look like a carbine. I can see on patrol base new my model is £350. 60% would be around £200/£210. Would still say thats fair for my scoprion ?

I’ve just tried giving it a go, and I believe the issue is electrical. Now that I’ve actually tried it, it’s kind of coming back to me. The gun just suddenly stopped working mid-game, and after trying a different battery, it never started working again.

I couldn’t tell you exactly why it happened, as I don’t remember dropping it or doing anything that could’ve pinched a cable or caused damage, but I think that’s probably the general culprit.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t really tell you much more than that.

Unfortunately, that puts the risk in a buyer's hands over the whole gearbox as it could be seized gears, a cabling fault or a failed motor. I take it you don't have a spare motor to confirm or rule out the original as a/the cause of the gun not running?

After some further investigation, I’ve taken the motor out and it spins fine when it’s not in the housing. I then tried giving it direct power with everything back in place, and I could see/hear the motor trying to spin, but it just wasn’t actually turning.

With my very limited knowledge of airsoft, if I had to put a diagnosis on it, I’d probably say the gears are seized or there’s some kind of issue with the gearbox.

With that in mind, where do you think this puts the Tommy in terms of value and resaleability?

Assuming the gearbox casing isn't compromised, the best case scenario is 60% of retail minus the cost off all 3 gears and a piston but pricing should look at the worst case scenario when the fault has not been confirmed so knocking off the value of a whole gearbox should be considered.

I know you haven't played for years but if there's a friend you can ask to take a look at it and isolate the problem, it gives a buyer less room to barter.

The gun is still in production so from a value proposition, you don't have much leverage where someone can just buy the gun at retail with peace of mind.
