Airsoft Exchange- Can't spell Airsoft without AI

Oh wow new innovations in AI slop. More drought please, we need five more of these and damn the water costs incurred.

That said Airsoft as a hobby is awash with absolutely dreadful AI stuff right now. Not only is it wasteful, but it looks fucking awful as well.

With that out of my system, I did peek this site last night after it featured on Mack's and saw literally nothing worth picking up, thankfully.

The promos, mail shots, etc also look so generic where if it wasn't for the logos, you couldn't tell the skirmish sites or retailers apart as the layouts, font all look like they came from the same cookie cutter.
 
There's also the way that if you look at it for any longer than 2 seconds, you start noticing just weird, sloppy mistakes that would have been a bit embarrassing for a business a couple of years ago.
 
Perfect. That's literally spot on to the promo posters I've seen on multiple sites' social media feeds. Next prompt just 'change the date for 2 sundays time', rinse and repeat for 3 years.

Thing is AI can be useful for certain tasks but people are too lazy to actually use it correctly so they shove everything into chatgpt and go with the first thing they come across

Well the ways in which it's useful are rarely seen publicly or on social media. A family friend recently had a new model from UCL look at her scans and it caught some sort of extremely early cancer which was very difficult to identify. I use it in my job to format and summarise days and days of syslogs, but these things aren't exactly viral online like tung tung tung sahur is...

I also use AI to help identify malicious code and other issues like that in my job. I mean it can scan through a thousand-page load of code and find the one tiny line that is bad in seconds. It would take me hours, maybe days, to find that manually.

Most people only see the horrid AI videos/images or other rubbish creators use it for, but it really does have some amazing uses that are underrepresented.

Oh, I also do this, it's a godsend for some of the incidents I have to explain lol

FWIW AI is a buzzword that's being applied to everything from chatbots to toasters willy-nilly.

Stuff like the image recognition algorithms used for mammograms are a completely different technology from ChatGPT, or image generators, or the ballistic computer in the XM157.

You might say, "well that's pedantic as shit, AI is AI," but the important note is that the trillions of dollars going to data centers have no benefit for the machine learning tech being used in medical scans. In fact, funding into those technologies has actually reduced as money is getting pumped into the big hypebeast technologies.

The AI grifters looks Altman and Musk will reference things like mammograms despite no medical service using xAI or Claude for that, because it legitimises them.
