G&G LEVAR Power Vs BB weight vs 4UAD Hop rubber.

Hello,

I have built a rather lovely LEVAR



It has the Waldo NPAS, 4UAD Hopr rubber, reinforced tapet and is HPA adapted now.

I tried it out on the weekend for the first time at a site that wouldnt allow it to run at Sniper power 2.3J , so I had to drop it 1.6Jish for DMR rules.
I found that I just couldnt get it to hop my 0.45 Geoff bbs.
I took the hop apart, put it back together. Same effect.

I have never tried a gun at DMR power.

The BB just didnt seem to want to go very flat. It wasnt terrible but it wasnt any better than my AEG at 1.1J runnings 0.32s

Is it the case that 1.6J just isnt enough to give a .45 enough juice that it runs out of go before the hop effect would be noticed.
Is there something wrong with the Hop?
Should I run this power with a ligher BB?
Anyone got any experience on this?

I am going to put it back up to sniper power over the next couple of days but i dont have anywhere with enough distance to really test it out before going to my next game.

Also.. Side question.

Setting the HPA power.
Is it best to open the NPAS up and control the power on the reg with lower PSI or have the NPAS more closed and send more power from the tank?

Any info or recommendations greatfully recieved.

Typically to lift heavier bbs at lower joules, you’ll need a taller nub so you can push the hopup down further, so either change the nub to a tall omega style one and if that doesn’t work .40s should be fine to use at 1.6J with a 4uad and a normal omega nub. Ignore the levar haters they don’t know the heat they are missing out on!
Im using 2.1J with .45 and a standard aftermarket hopup and omega nub, and I use only the first 20% of the hopup wheel else im overhopping
