Hello I am from Manchester and looking to join first & only air soft after a few games. I was wondering if anyone is interested in showing me around air soft and someone to meet up with as I don't really fancy turning up on my own.

Thanks Daz

Welcome Daz, have a good look around the forum, you'll find plenty of similar posts to yours, one thing I will say just get yourself down to your chosen sites, everyone is generally a friendly bunch most will happily discuss the pros & cons of various kit, & probably let you give it a squeeze 😏.
I'd resist trying to find some new bff's online that play at the sites your hoping to call home, just on the slim off chance that your new airsoft buddy turns out to be an absolute nightmare on the playing field, leaving you in an awkward situation.
Same goes for online team recruitment, these things usually work out much better for all involved if the friendships are formed organically, rather than some kinda arranged marriage lol.

Welcome.

As above. While generally I'm not a fan of social media, sites specific faceache group can be useful.
I know the idea of turning up on your todd can feel a bit daunting but don't worry about it, the vast majority of players are very welcoming, especially to newbies, and are always willing to offer pointers and tips. They'll also be happy to talk about and show off their kit. In fact it's probably harder to get them to shut up about it 😁

I remember my first game in summer 07. Turned up with some 10yr old mp5. Broke after 2 games but it was an evening game so just milled about then went home. Proper old school. No Chrono and brief was basic. Was just basically a group of lads shooting the granny out of each other in some woods. Epic.

Welcome!

As others said, try not to fret about turning up on your own. Most airsofters are a friendly welcoming bunch. You will find some elitist snobs but the majority of the time, you can join or form groups quite easily, especially on outdoor skirmishes.

Most of us know the sport faces a challenge by the cost of living and persistent ignorance from the general public so it's in our interest to welcome and offer advice to those joining.

Probably a good point about online nightmares /keyboard commando’s. As for on site most player will be friendly and talk to you. Especially if you ask about there kit, we love to talk about our kit and guns. lol

My first game was Stirling Weekender at Catterick, the Global Recon Game ( was originally Ghost Recon, but Ubisoft licensed the name to a Lasertag Company and they complained ). I went by myself, In at the deepened but was a great game.

Whatever route you take enjoy yourself and if the bug bites say goodbye to any spare cash you may have. lol
