Just wondering if anyone uses and can recommend a nice in ear and mic setup, which I can use with my BAOFENG UV-5R 2 way

Thats what I was looking at, but it means taking you hand off the RIF to get the mic near your mouth

Cheap throat mics don't work.

I had that transparent in ear thing but it blocks other sounds and my earhole sweated behind it and it became very uncomfortable in longer games.

I settled with something like this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-Pin-Earpiece-Headset-PTT-for-QUANSHENG-WOUXUN-TYT-BAOFENG-UV5R-888S-KENWOOD/162569423351?epid=3006831612&hash=item25d9e489f7:g:migAAOSwstJZU6FN

But the earpiece is not inside my earhole but next to it. That way I can hear the environment too.
Oh these, yeah I had a set of these and they kept falling off

I use a mixture of Racals (modified by JCI however there is a wiring diagram on here) and cheap retevis throat mic/clear tube.

prefer using the Racals but with a belt kit it’s not really possible due to the amplifier so that stays on my PC for use with my AR as it’s nice going into buildings with pyro knowing you won’t get tinnitus.

use the throat mic with my sniper belt and it’s a cheap bit of kit that just about serves the purpose I wouldn’t say that it’s massively clear however if you annunciate well anyway you won’t have an issue.

I don't suppose you have some links to the ones you have, so I can take a look at them

I just use the little cable one it came with myself. Toyed with over ear style ones akin to ear defenders but that just results in me getting very sweaty ears.

Which is annoying as occasionally i would like to have ear defenders on

On a related note, I've not had any luck with Baofeng UV5 radio earpieces, every single one I've had ranging from the cheap cheerful ones they come with up to a £50 TomTac bowman setup have all failed after minimal use. Do people have any tried and tested long lasting recommendations?

I've been running a set of Earmor's with their own PTT and I've had quite a good experience with it.

how big is your ear canal?

Dude asked for working headset setups and mentioned going so far as a Bowman headset, not that much of a stretch to Earmor's seeing as they're really the only budget headsets worth using.
