thermal sight do or dont??

An actual body heat detecting scope? I've never heard of a fully functioning one before, but I can't see that many uses for it over regular optics, especially since through a thermal scope, there is no way to tell where your BBs are landing, so your gun would have to be mighty accurate. That, and I can imagine that a fully functioning thermal sight would cost an arm and a leg, seeing though even a decent EOTech sight will set you back a good hundred quid.

But hey, that's just my opinion mate, I think in the end buying something like that comes down to personal preference. ;)

If you have money to burn, go for it.

if you like the look of it, go for it

if you play in bunker complexes or at night, go for it

me, nah I wouldn't bother

Even the cheapest NV stuff I've seen is over £1k

I've not looked at Thermal sights before, but I'd imagine it'll cost you more than your gun, even if it's a brand new, fully upgraded systema with all the bells and whistles.

Or ten.

Or a fancy car.

If you'd be able to make good use of it and can afford it then you might as well I guess, but I think it might just make a lot of people mega hate you at night games lol.

if you can find somewhere in the UK to sell you one then crack on.. but they're ITAR items and would be extremely difficult to import.

yeah a bit pricey my mate can get me one but wouldnt just be used for airsoft though would be used else where too

and it has a red dot cqb sight on top so could trace bb's and for close encounters!!

Yes, but if you're using the thermal sight, you can't use the RDS at the same time, so it's really absolutely useless for tracing where your shots are landing.

but if they are zeroed properly then find with thermal kill, with rds

no one could sneak up if it was being used ??

To be fair, if your vision is good enough you shouldn't have to use a thermal sight to find your enemy, but like myself and others have said, if you really want a thermal sight that bad, then expect to fork out plenty of cash. If your friend has access to a working thermal sight, then even he/she will probably expect big money for it, because what I'd call "unnecessary" gadgets like that are worth a lot.

If you really desire a thermal sight, then go for it, but I would advise against it, because in my opinion, you're spending huge amounts of money on something that someone with good eyesight wouldn't need, where you could be spending that money on something more useful. ;)

Oh, and it would be nice if someone could find me some links to some thermal sights available on airsoft websites, so I can check how well they function.

fair point just a question trying to get peoples opinions

their are no airsoft one's simply because it costs too much to make and barely anyone would fork out for them otherwise Systema would have already done it (Look at their PTW range if you had asked me before they were released i'd have said no one will buy one lol)

could use money spent on thermal sight on a pair of glasses instead?

I've had a play with a real larue m4 with a thermal on. Unless you've won the lottery don't bother. the guy said the starting price for the optics was £17k. At the ranges of airsoft eyesight is fine. NV if you go to the field with a white stick and a trusty labrador. Second hand NV you might get for £100 if you know where to look
