RANT: Gamers playing Airsoft!!

One day i would love to see an airsofting gamer attempt a 360 no scope and fail (its when you jump with a sniper spin round 360 degrees and shoot someone, I know this because my freind loves cod and dose it all the time)

wow i just realised how many spelling mistakes I just made

call of duty black ops is coming out sonn.... brace yourselves guys :(

can't wait for it personally.

but its not a modern game, so I have the feeling we're abobut to get an influx of 'nam-era n00bs :D

Ha good luck with that nam gear can cost you a arm and a leg

What we will be seeing soon is chineese clone s*** and you will start to se metal cantens falling out of the now ripped out bottem of the pouch

I've not really had that happen to me so far.
Although there was a problem when I was airsofting one weekend where a couple of people on the other team refused to tke hits EVEN WHEN there were 5 of us firing at a range of a few meters in the open.

Always take it up with the marshal if these wanker moments happen.

Another time, there was this ###### head with a stars and stripes t shirt (worst camo idea; if anything it's going to make people shoot him even more out of an anti-American impulse AMIRIGHT?! ;) JOKE!).

This guy would take the hit, but walk round a corner and magically respawn.

Luckily enough people complained to the marshal's about this and he ceased to bother us :)

Remember guys; it's a game! But there are rules to follow and you must take it seriously, because it's not a game[/simon Pegg]
I love you for quoting black books  just sayin

Ok, well, I've been following this game. I got a bit of insider info too. However, at time of writing, atleast some of this has been released.

Killstreaks - RC bomb car.

Now memcwho, I know we've jokingly suggested making an RC airsoft gun....

Its not just Nam. It appears to be generic 1960's to 1990's. But with a crap tonne of 'Nam (sadly...)

Supposedly, atleast 1 mission will be (or based on) 22 Reg's Operation Nimrod. Expect a hell of a lot of black boiler suits and MP5s...

FAMAS type thing and AUG (yes, a good 10 years before Steyr even started the prototypes...) have arrived, as have several CAR-15 type things. Expect lots of these to make appearances in airsoft game.

Also - want to know how Treyarch get all their...erm...'knowledge' ha! on guns? Go to a firearms range? Ask experts? No. Airsoft guns.

Quite frankly, this game looks absolutely hideous and hilarious. It may or may not effect the sport/hobbie...

OPERATION NIMROD??????!!!!!!!!*now has operation hard'rod' :P *
Its only a rumour.

If it is true, it could end up being like "mile High club" or spec opps - not really story related.

Again, I said based on though - it could be another 22rg type operation (SAS storming a building with hostages - but more than 5 terrorists...)

Guns - to suggest this, Treyarch have been seen studying MP5s and an L85.

I won't get my hopes up. I did that before - and was bitterly dissapointed by MW2 and BF:BC2.

first and for most i am a gamer, and i suspect you are as well as i've seen one of your videos where you say "look theres (forgot his name) camping in the corner" its a bit contradictorily don't you think?
airsoft is a military reenactment so i say let the kids get into it (i know all of us sure got into it first time going) so let them use there call signs, im not sure what you mean by "ordering people about" (if you mean shouting orders at everyone or theres someone other there we need to suppress? part of airsoft is teamwork and everyone chipping in helps) people aren't pre signed ranks (unless of course you have a chain of command like milsim *depending on where you go*) if people order me around (such as rush that position what are you doing, everyone rushs and the guy who said it just sat there) then i tend to ignore them and do my own thing (new or experienced) and tbh ive enjoyed it that way working the flanks instead of rushing in. but if its suppression fire and telling us where contacts are every little helps.

as for the helmet thing i can only sympathize with you, people (new and experienced) not taking hits is a real pain in the Arse.

im my time of airsoft, ive had some awesome newcomers who really get into it Many of which were gamers and i dont think you should stereotype them as then you would be saying ever gamer is a complete a******. (we all know some are)

and then ive had people who dont listen and dont take hits.

i hoped ive changed your view for newcomers, you were one once dont forget.
Well said :)

Yeah, about 4 or 6 of my group played Modern warfare 2 and i heard atleast 5 or more referencesanout the game. I play it but I wasn't a wuss about my first Firefight, I man then first encounter was getting temperture grenaded..... I liked to try and flank the enemy players but the trees ruslted so I was caught the first time. My mate kept saying I'm going prone, Im pretty sure it's a proper military term but he got it from Call of duty.

Next game was to plant a bomb, me and someone else were the escorters, I got hit so we switched. My mate went Search and Destroy.

Yer prone is a proper Military term but TBH it isnt widly used on opoations just on the ranges ;)

i like it when noobs get things wrong it makes me chuckle

Looking back at the first few posts I can be a bit bossy and I play cod but it's the army that made me that way! I hate people that don't get involved putting other people in the firing line because they don't wanna be hit cuz it hurts (paintball this is) subsequently I won 2 lifetime membership cards but gave one away as I'm only gunna live once. It gave me free entry and 500 balls and lunch etc for free plus 6 people per year free and 15% of all purchases but now I'll be the airsoft newbie I'll probably be told to shut it. Not sure how good I am at shutting it tho

here get this some wee noob must have been 16 with his dads army kit you know webbing helmet gortex and the best bit a gas mask which is pritty hard to breath through when running non stop half the spent at the respawn trying to breath or and this is the best bit mistaking marshals as the enamy.

NBC NOT ALWAYS NEEDED

Not trying to put a damper on the mood (excuse me if I do), but isn't some comment a little of-putting for nooby/first time players?

I mean we all start of noobs at some point (and I will be soon), i've had experience of other forms of 'shooting' related sports (both tactical and target) and i'll be starting airsoft skirmishes soon, I don't intend to run around with akimbo mp5's and 360 no-scoping, but I playing cod alot.

Like I say not trying to put a damper on the mood or anyones spirits, but just a reminder we all start as complete noobs that don't have a clue

I know everyone starts with out a clue and TBH i expect that.. but that isnt the bad thing

What i am sayinf its the poeple who start with out a clue but think they know everything becuase they have played a video game

Fair enough if you start out and dont know the trigger from the saftey but its when someone offers help etc and they ethier reject it or ignore it
