Evening

Don't suppose anyone has slapped one of these into your generally available brand AKs (CYMA, G&G, TM, E&L etc)

Thinking about replacing the default cast G&G hop in my GKM.

Worst case will just buy one and see for myself, but thought there might be some xp floating about - I can't be the only one fed up with the crappy little slide.

I've had the same thought as you, and decided to take the plunge.

I installed it into one of the Raven AK74s which have a similar, if not directly copied design from the later CYMA AK models.

It was a little tight compared to the lonex Hop unit I had in previously but it did fit and feed fine.

I've yet to actually skirmish with it, so I can't tell you how it actually performs but it does at least fit and feed ok.

Watching with interest  - I had exactly the same thought when these flashed up in the new products part of the Patrolbase website!

They look good, they're cheap too (Compared to their competitors)... Curious how they are and if they've been fixed as the initial release had some pretty bad QC reports in the LCT Owners facebook page 🤔

Are these a new release, or are they just what LCT AKs come with as standard?

I should hopefully be going shooting this weekend, so fingers crossed it's running ok paired with a 4uantum bucking!
Yeah I have some unopened 4uantums lying about too so depending on how it goes for you I might just do exactly the same 😁

Yeah I was wondering the same thing. I saw the rotary unit in Negative's recent LCT shaming video and thought damn that's what I want (as he rants about how crap their internals are 😂)

Oh nice - do Specnas come with those as stock then?

I wonder what the point of that flat top cover piece over the barrel entrance is, looks optional either way

Most likely a spacer to make sure the hop unit is seated against the gearbox, replacing the L shaped piece (That did the same job, a spacer for the hop unit) that has a habit of falling out as soon as you look at the replica funny

Well I had a bit of a shit day all in all, but one of the few decent bits was getting to test the new hop in the AK.

It works, but perhaps *too* well if anything!

I had to have it set to Minimum hop, with a 4uantum and using 0.32s to not get significant over-hop.

Otherwise it seemed absolutely fine however, and worth the fairly low price.

Good to know!

I mean I find that issue quite common when using tall nubs like an omega or similar paired with Macarons and other off the shelf flat hop type buckings. sometimes you have to sand a mil or so off the lever arm to ensure less protrusion at the lowest setting.

Can it be adjusted still via the dust cover/ejection port, or do you need to lift the top cover?

I thought a photo would be of use to those interested.

A bit more awkward to adjust than the normal hop unit however.

Ah I see, because most AEG AKs only allow a couple of inches of movement on the charging handle - the old slide allowed adjustment to be accessible from the front of the chamber, the dial does not. Interesting.

If that is the case, we're talking, Pros: finer adjustments and holds position while firing. Cons: might need a flat head screwdriver (or dust cover off) to adjust.

Without tools, then I think you still can, providing you lack sausage fingers, but it's definitely more of a challenge.

I've been using a small screwdriver just to make it easier, as Zarrin says.
